New Zealand won by 86 runs

New Zealand take a 1-0 lead in the series. This win would mean a lot as they have found it difficult to beat Bangladesh at home. Also, their lead spinner picking up a 6-fer right before the World Cup would be a big tick off. Bangladesh's batters will have to do better if they are to level the series. The final game is on Tuesday. Do join us for that. Until next time, goodbye and stay safe..
Lockie Ferguson: Excellent win by the boys. It all started with our batters, Henry and Blundell soaked up the pressure, Bangladesh started well with the ball but those two got us back into the game. The way Ish bowled today was exceptional, he's our go-to guy and nice to see him yielding the results of his hard work. It was an all round team performance.
Ish Sodhi | Player of the Match: Really good day. Historically we haven't done well here and hence it is nice to get the win. Nice of Litton for calling me back after the mankad. That was the whole reason we decided to bat first as the ball would spin more in the second innings, even Ravindra and McConchie got the ball to spin. Playing ODI cricket leading into the WC is awesome, but this is a difficult place to play and to walk away with a win is awesome.
Litton Das: Before 40 overs we were in the game. Their lower order batted really well. The wicket was not bad to bat on, we were not up to the mark with our batting. Like I said, their lower order batted really well and scored 40-50 runs. Our two senior guys played well but the rest of the batters were not up to the mark.
21:25 Local Time, 15:25 GMT, 20:55 IST: New Zealand have broken their Bangladesh rut, first ODI win since 2008 and Ish Sodhi played a big part in the victory. It was his day with the bat and ball. He added crucial runs towards the end of New Zealand's innings and then spun a web around the Bangladesh batters. Jamieson picked up Litton in the powerplay and after that it was the Sodhi show, he struck twice in his second over, dismissing Tanzid and Sarkar. Tamim and Mahmudullah were the only ones who showed some sort of application and their 40s were not enough to get Bangladesh close to the target. Sodhi finished with career-best ODI figures and was well aided by the rest of his mates. Stick around for the presentations..
Ferguson to Khaled Ahmed, out Bowled!! New Zealand win by 86 runs. Skipper Ferguson comes back and picks up the final wicket. Ish Sodhi to Nasum Ahmed, no run, dropped! That should have been a 7-fer. But Allen has put it down. Googly on off-stump, Nasum closes the bat face and the outside edge goes quickly to slip. Allen is a tad late to react and cannot hang on even though he goes with two hands. Still an excellent spell from Sodhi, 10-1-39-6
Ish Sodhi to Nasum Ahmed, SIX, that's gone a mile. He's dealing in sixes. Second one for him. Tossed up on off-stump, Nasum sits down, gets under the ball and launches the slog sweep over deep mid-wicket
Ish Sodhi to Nasum Ahmed, no run, floated up around off, Nasum holds himself back and defends down the pitch
