Ferguson collects the trophy and joins his team-mates as they pose for the photographs. All smiles in the New Zealand camp. They had failed to win a single game in their last two visits to Bangladesh in the 50-over format. They were beaten comprehensively in their last two ODI series as well. However, this relatively inexperienced New Zealand side has emerged victorious under challenging conditions. Only five from this set-up are in the World Cup squad and they still managed to deliver the goods. Bangladesh too were without some of their main players. But they've now lost two ODI series in a row at home and had a disappointing Asia Cup campaign. Not a good sign heading into a major tournament and their batting unit hasn't clicked for a while. Bangladesh have just announced the World Cup squad and there's no Tamim Iqbal! On that note, it's time to bring the curtains down on this series. Until next time, it's goodbye from all of us down here.

Lockie Ferguson | New Zealand captain: We are very chuffed. Some ups and down, the boys fought hard throughout, happy with the win. The way Bangladesh batted in the first 25 overs, we were under a lot of pressure. Fortunately we picked up wickets. This week has been about winning the series, we have had a good week. We are always building as a team towards what's next.

Henry Nicholls | Player of the Series: Pretty pleasing. We've been here for the T20s, we know the wickets can be tough at times. Credit to the batters to the way we adapted in all the matches. Credit to the whole bowling team. The low total allowed me to soak in the pressure. When you play international cricket, that's the test, it's tough cricket here.

Will Young | Player of the Match: The World Cup is just around the corner. To come away with a win, first since 2008, it's cool. Different times, this group has played a lot together. We gel well together on and off the field. The conditions (for the World Cup) might be similar, we'll take the confidence.

Najmul Hossain Shanto | Bangladesh captain: Our batsmen didn't score big despite everyone getting starts. We are not too much worried about our batting. If I had batted till the end, it would have been a different situation. We need two big partnerships, we couldn't today. Hopefully all batsmen take responsibility in the next match. Everyone's prepared well, looking forward to the World Cup.

20:16 Local Time, 14:16 GMT, 19:46 IST: New Zealand 2 -- 0 Bangladesh. A clinical performance from the visitors. This win was set up by their bowlers. Milne and Boult removed the Bangladeshi openers cheaply and the former nipped out Towhid Hridoy who tried to counterattack. Captain Shanto batted responsibly but found little support from his team-mates. NZ kept picking wickets at regular intervals and once Shanto fell for 76, the Kiwis made light work of the Bangladesh tail. Chasing 172, Finn Allen got going with a hat-trick of boundaries in the very first over. Shoriful broke the 49-run opening stand in the tenth over by bouncing out Allen and followed it by castling debutant Foxcroft for a golden duck. That got the crowd excited but Will Young and Henry Nicholls forged an 81-run stand for the third wicket to extinguish any hopes for the home team. They played risk-free cricket and the latter was happy to bide his time out in the middle. Young, meanwhile, kept the scoreboard ticking, punished anything loose to notch up his second fifty of the series. Nasum bowled a beautiful delivery to dismiss the set NZ opener for 70 but it came too late for the hosts. Nicholls, after getting dismissed in the 40s in the first two matches, recorded a half-ton as NZ romped home with 15.1 overs to spare. Stick around for the presentations...

Mahmudullah to Blundell, FOUR, lovely offbreak, Blundell is beaten in the flight as he dances down the track to flick it away. The ball dips to spin past the inside edge. Mighty close to the off-stump, the keeper doesn't collect it and the ball runs away to the fence. Given as runs. New Zealand win by 7 wickets to take the series 2-0!
