Two pretty interesting games from these two sides. Buttler wants his side to be ultra positive. Latham has hinted at more rotation of players for the next two games. The Oval is the venue for the 3rd ODI. Pitches there have been true. Wednesday promises to be fun. Do join us on the ride. Goodnight!

Jos Buttler | England captain: Delighted! To be able to post a total like that is credit to the way we wanted to play. Liam came with intent and Curran was also good. We wanted to find ways to put pressure back on the opposition and, push their lengths because there was enough help for bowlers initially. Encouraging everyone to be ultra positive. Defining roles will come. Everyone is pretty clear with the options they have in the team. Livingstone and Curran batting at 7 and 8, well within their right to bat higher. We talked about improving from the last game.

Tom Latham | NZ captain: They had a couple of key partnerships at the back end with lower order. Unfortunately we could take the wickets to get into the bowlers. Full credit to them. We look for ways to improve. Our new ball bowling was good, Boult doing his thing was great. Unfortunately we couldn't capitalize when they were under pressure. Couple of changes in the side today, hopefully we can do that again in the next couple of games. We weren't able to take it deep with the bat and didn't have partnerships.

Liam Livingstone | PoTM: Just tried to get used to the conditions and play well. We got a lot of depth, something that we pride ourselves on. It has been a frustrating year for me. I pride myself on adaptability. I was looking forward to this series to spend some time in the middle. I just needed one innings. sometimes you can overthink just felt I needed time in the middle. Frustrating couple of months, not been at my best, but my hard work for the last couple of months has paid off.

19:11 Local Time, 18:11 GMT, 23:41 IST: This is a very good game for England after the hammering in Cardiff. They were down in the powerplay with Boult running rampage, but they didn't let pressure get to them. Buttler first, Livingstone next and with Mo and Curran doing the suppor roles so well, they got a very good total. New ball always had help for pacers on this pitch so New Zealand needed some sensible batting. Willey knocked over Allen, Atkinson got Conway and Young ran himself out to let England in. MItchell was putting on a show again but Topley cracked the game wide open with 3 wickets in 7 balls. Mo Ali got two in one over and then Willey mopped the tail away. New Zealand lost their last 7 wickets in 39 balls.
