It's a nice throwback to the times when getting a motorbike was a big deal for the cricketers, with Colin de Grandhomme clearly impressed with his newest gift as he scoots off on a ride with Tim Southee clearly looking an uncomfortable pillion. Quick, cops, watch this license-less, helmet-less overspeeding. So I was Vineet Anantharaman bringing you this in the company of Hari Sadanandan and our scorer Sulthan, and until a day when somebody, somewhere, learns how to put their bat down in time to keep out those bolts of yorkers, ta ta!!

Tim Southee | MoS | Match-losing, Series-winning skipper: It was a young side. Different guys stepped up at different times. Credit to Sri Lanka for the way they played and Malinga's spell just broke our back today. He's done it in the past, and it was a great spell from a class T20 bowler. There wasn't much our boys could've done about it. It was nice to get a partnership towards the end and it would've been nice to hang around for a little longer. It has been a great crowd here for the T20s, and it has been a learning tour for the youngsters.

Lasith Malinga | MoM | Match-winning, Series-losing skipper: In the last two games, we didn't get through. So we wanted to win this game for all the people who've come here. All the players are really happy with what we did in this match. The secret to my bowling is not to complicate things much. Yorker was my best ball, I only try my best to bowl the right line and right length. Really happy that we won the match, I am a wicket taking bowler when I play for Sri Lanka. Captaining the side and leading the bowling is a bit of pressure. I always want to give all my experience to the youngsters before the World Cup. I give them the opportunities and support them big time. I would like to thank the New Zealand board and the players for coming here because we have had a tough time in the last few months. In the future also we want to do our best for the Sri Lankan fans and the supporters.

Okay, let's not forget, the series is still New Zealand's (2-1) to take home, but it's a scarring consolation they've been dealt with tonight. Anyway, hang around, we'll bring you the presentations ..

Kusal Perera: Every win is a good moment for us. We lost the series but it's good to win today. (On Malinga's 4-in-4) He's a legend. Bowled great lines and lengths today. (On the review that got Rutherford) Being the keeper, I can see it well and I felt that it was in line and hitting the stumps. So, I told him (Malinga) to take the review

22:10 Local Time: It's only just that someone who unleashes the magic of WWWW ends up on the right side of the result. And it's just as just that HE gets to lead his side off the field, to a packed house with every soul up in applause. Lasith Malinga, well, he's no ordinary legend. And like is usually the case, it was only him who could make a contest out of this seemingly ordinary target of 126. 2.3 to 2.6, four deliveries, four yorkers, each one getting all the more unplayable, and killing the contest right there. It was too much for the Kiwis to get out of, slogging and tumbling to the spinners after that, before Rance's untimely sweep saw out Southee's brief scare.

Sandakan to Rance, out Lbw!! That's the nail. 35 teasing deliveries, delaying the inevitable, flirting with a Southee-turns-Stokes moment, but the 36th is the clincher, the killer of any possible comeback. Rance realy should've looked to only defend this one out and let Southee take over from the other end, but for some reason, he thinks sweeping this away is sensible. Misses. Has the ball straightening away from middle onto off, and then pinning his front leg right there. Rance lbw b Sandakan 8(17)

Sandakan to Rance, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!

15.5

Sandakan to Rance, no run, too full, too much of a leg-line. Squeezed out to short mid-wicket

15.4

Sandakan to Rance, no run, beaten. Gets it to angle across the poky-defence

15.3

Sandakan to Southee, 1 run, back deep in the crease to whip it away through mid-wicket

15.2

Sandakan to Southee, no run, stumping appeal: It starts with Southee's missed reverse sweep. But then when his back leg is up in the air, Perera - the 'keeper - has a soft whip at the bails. But the bail is disloged only when the foot's back grounded. Ahh, the lack of power

15.1

Sandakan to Southee, no run, soft defence, and just when he spots it to be spinning back in, channels his inner Ronaldo, free-kicking it to point

Lakshan Sandakan [3.0-0-32-0] is back into the attack

14.6

Wanidu Hasaranga to Rance, no run, full, middle-lined, Rance has the full-faced block

14.5

Wanidu Hasaranga to Southee, 1 run, full toss. Southee has a free slog, but can't get it cleanly off the middle, miscuing it on the bounce to long-on

14.4

Wanidu Hasaranga to Rance, 1 run, and again. Another googly that's not read. Another cover drive away from his body. Another inside edge. Another one past the stumps

14.3

Wanidu Hasaranga to Rance, 2 runs, drives now to the unread googly - thick inside edge, fine leg

14.2

Wanidu Hasaranga to Rance, no run, backs away, cuts, inside-edging it just past his stumps to the keeper

14.1

Wanidu Hasaranga to Rance, no run, spinning in from middle, beats the inside edge on the wrong-lined defence, and strikes him on the line of leg, to spin further down
