Windies over the course of the series managed to break their jinx in ODIs but weren't consistent enough to win the series despite winning the opening game. They let it slip during the second ODI and some slippery conditions in the third made life very tough for them. Pooran and his boys are a young lot and would want to take a lot of learning from this series into the next one. We hope you had a good time following this game. It is ta ta for now with the promise that we will get you more cricketing action.
Tom Latham, Player of the Match: It was nice to make a contribution. We could put them under pressure. We had set a target for ourselves at the 40-over mark. We didn't build partnerships in the first two games. There were partnerships throughout today. We certainly knew it was a better wicket. Even when they were 170 for no loss, we knew they weren't away from us. We picked up wickets to pull it back. The partnership up front from them did bother us a bit. But we had the confidence that we could chase it down. Was nice to come here and put such a performance on the board. It was nice to get over the line.
Nicholas Pooran: Tough one. 300 plus on that wicket was very good. One or two wickets in the powerplay would have been ideal for us. The wet ball also didn't help. We are a young team. NZ are the number 1 team and in good batting conditions, they took advantage of it. We have a special bunch of guys. Kyle (Mayers) was determined to score as he didn't score much in the last two games. He came out and executed his plans well in front of his home crowd. It was difficult to grip the ball. We had our chance to win the series in the second game and we let it slip. We paid the price for it. Can't fault the guys much as we scored more than 300 in the final ODI. They (the bowlers) tried their best to execute. We need to keep trusting our abilities and process.
Mitchell Santner, Player of the Series: It is always nice (to win). It was a hard fought series. I think the conditions changed a lot compared to first versus second innings. One needed to adapt. Looked like a pretty good wicket. Mayers did well. The chase was set up for the guys coming in at the end.
22:43 Local Time, 02:43 GMT, 08:13 IST: Windies would be gutted. They got a good score on the board but has been chased down easily by the Kiwis. The wet ball and conditions didn't help at all but the fielding from the hosts was poor and that didn't help either. Earlier, the top three from the hosts scored majority of the runs to help them topple the 300-mark. NZ in reply had almost everyone firing for them with the bat barring Allen who fell early. Four of the top five scored half-centuries and that propelled NZ to this win. Not to forget, Neesham played a lovely cameo as well to help his team win by a comfortable margin. NZ gain 10 points from this game and that is an added bonus apart from the series win which by the way is NZ's first ever bilateral win in the Caribbean in 37 years. Back for the presentations in a bit.
Pooran to Neesham, SIX, swung across the line and over deep mid for a sixer. That's it! NZ win the series 2-1. Was a dragged down delivery and Neesham punishes it to get his team over the line and that too with sheer panache
Nicholas Pooran, right-arm off break, comes into the attack

Alzarri Joseph to Neesham, 1 run, stays back and tucks the ball away for a single. They should do it sensibly from here on
