Both teams will travel to Perth with the scoreline reading 1-1. The series is now nicely poised with three games to go. Can Pakistan be consistent with their performances? Join us back on Thursday to catch our coverage of the third ODI from the WACA. For now, goodbye and cheers!
Hafeez: "I believe the boys did a great job. We wanted to get the total on the board and bat sensibly as the ball wasn't coming onto the bat. The bowlers did a great job for us. Amir, Junaid and Imad bowled really well. He is an experienced man (Shoaib Malik). Yeah, definitely love the support from the crowd. This is the way to move forward and we believe we got everything to win the series but we will take it one game at a time."
Mohammad Hafeez is the Man of the Match
Smith: "We went too hard with the bat and it was an ordinary effort in the first game as well but Wade bailed us out. We need to build a few more partnerships and stop losing wickets in clusters. We haven't been playing our natural game against their spinners. It was going to be tough to defend this target but we tried as hard as we can. Probably we were 40 runs short on this wicket. We were outplayed by Pakistan. Lynn is a bit sore, so someone might come into the squad. Not sure yet and hopefully, we can play well in Perth."
A win in Australia against the Aussies after nearly twelve years for Pakistan. An excellent all-round performance from them. The stand-in skipper Hafeez led the team from the front. After bundling out the hosts to an average score of 220, their chase got off to a nervy start. Hafeez edged the fourth ball of the innings, but it was dropped by Smith. But, after that the openers set a solid foundation. Hafeez started slowly, but Sharjeel looked positive and went after the loose deliveries. The duo put on a 68-run stand. Babar Azam delighted everyone with eye-pleasing strokes, but perished playing one shot too many. The world champions reckoned an opening when Hafeez was dismissed. But, all those thoughts were buried by the experienced Shoaib Malik - scoring a sensible 42. Smith used his bowlers brilliantly and kept attacking, but they didn't have enough runs to defend.
Head to Umar Akmal, wide, that's it. At last, Pakistan register their first win of the tour. It was slipped down leg, and Akmal let it go. Umpire deems it a wide to complete the formalities
Head to Umar Akmal, FOUR, Pakistan can't lose from here. A big dance down the ground, and Akmal drills this full length delivery over mid-off. That was muscled
Head to Umar Akmal, no run, darted in, pushed to mid-on
Head to Umar Akmal, FOUR, there's the big shot. Akmal waltzes down, gives himself room by going leg-side-ish and carves the inside-out drive. Gets it wide of extra cover to collect a boundary
Head to Umar Akmal, no run, flat delivery. Punched to the right of the bowler
