Pakistan should have set more than 8 per over had they batted their 20 overs, but rain came to break their flow and the restart wasn't all that kind. 119 off 15 overs with all ten wickets in hand wasn't a big deal for Australia, especially with a strong batting line-up. Looking back now, that 20-minute innings break, which could so easily have been cut down to 10 after the rain, has robbed the hosts of a win. So the wait to see if Warner can be dismissed this summer in T20s continues till Tuesday. Join us for the second T20I at 19:10 local time. The Canberra skies are expected to be kind. See you all then!

17:51 Local Time, 06:51 GMT, 12:21 IST: The rain has had its say. Match called off. What an escape for Pakistan. "It may be a blessing in disguise," said Wahab Riaz with a beaming smile while walking off when the covers were called, indeed it turns out to be a blessing. With the way Finch was plundering runs, it looked as if Australia would win with overs to spare. Seeing the dark clouds around, he launched a stunning attack on Mohammad Irfan, who leaked as many as 26 runs in an over. But all those rain prayers from the green contingent worked. 11 more balls would have seen Australia go one up in the series, but the timing of the rain was perfect for Pakistan.

17:23 Local Time, 06:23 GMT, 11:53 IST: It's actually pouring and pretty dark. Fingers crossed if you are an Aussie fan.

17:18 Local Time, 06:18 GMT, 11:48 IST: The rain has returned. It's getting heavy. Still 11 more balls to be bowled for a result. The Pakistani fans are cheering. Australia are actually cruising to victory. Players going off and the covers are on. Every four minutes we will be losing an over.

Irfan to Finch, FOUR, Wahab Riaz! He did the tough part of chasing and flicking the ball back just inside the rope. But why wouldn't you push hard enough for the ball to not reach the rope.
