So, another match won by the rain, third such instance on this tour already. England would be pleased with the range shown by Banton today. He was severe with his gameplay. But the others lost the plot after that and that's when the rains arrived to make a permanent statement. Hopefully we'll have better weather for the remaining two games that are also to be played at this venue. That's it as far as our coverage for this game is concerned. Until next time, it's goodbye! Cheers!

21:01 Local Time, 20:01 GMT, 01:31 IST: That's it then, I'm afraid. The match has been called off. Too much damage had been done on the outfield and there wasn't time to get it back in shape.

Bhat Yasin: Look what one good series can do to your confidence. The same is visible in Mohammad Rizwan. He was looking an ordinary wk/batsman in the previous tours, but one good tour has changed him completely. Good luck Mr. Sarfaraz.

20:40 Local Time, 19:40 GMT, 01:10 IST: The covers have come off. The groundstaff is busy with the mop up but the outfield has taken a real beating.

Javed Maqbool: We are having a nice tri-nation series: Pakistan, England, and Rain. Rain has won the test series by 2-1. Now it is looking promising in the first T20I as well..

20:27 Local Time, 19:27 GMT, 00:57 IST: The rain continues. We've got some official news regarding the cut-off time (for a five-over second innings) which is 21:19 local time. So time is running out. We're hearing that Pakistan's target in case of a five-over chase will be 56.

20:08 Local Time, 19:08 GMT, 00:38 IST: Meanwhile, it's still drizzling in Manchester.. And to sum up England's innings - Tom Banton's knock was the highlight of the initial 90 minutes of this match. Getting an opportunity to open the innings, the dazzling batsman struck a 42-ball 71. Once he departed, Pakistan absolutely stormed back by taking wickets at regular intervals. And as a result of that, the hosts couldn't really capitalize on that start provided by Tom. Shadab proved to be a touch expensive initially, but it was the leggie who got the aggressive opener's wicket. Imad Wasim bowled a handy spell too as he got Bairstow in the opening over of the match, and Gregory later - moments before the rain arrived. We shall let you know the revised DLS target soon, but for that to happen, rain has to stop. And I'm sorry to say - it's raining heavily at the moment.

A heartbreaking news - Ben Stokes' father has revealed that he was diagnosed with brain cancer recently. Hence, Ben Stokes missed out on the final two Tests of the England-Pakistan series. "I didn't sleep for a week and my head wasn't really in it," said Stokes in one of his interviews. "Leaving (the team) was the right choice from a mental point of view," the all-rounder added further.

19:59 Local Time, 18:59 GMT, 00:29 IST: We've started losing overs. Think England won't come to bat out with so much time lost due to rain. Would be interesting to see what the DLS revised target will be.

Champ: England hosting Pakistan or Rain hosting Pakistan??

Jamid Junaid: Two things that are so unpredictable. One Pakistan cricket, other - England weather.

19:32 Local Time, 18:32 GMT, 00:02 IST: We'll start losing overs in 20 minutes.. The weather forecast doesn't look promising, so we might be in for a long delay. If England don't get a chance to bat again, we'll have a revised DLS target.. For now, it's absolutely pelting down. Oh, this English weather! Was proving to be such a roller coaster of a ride this game.

19:21 Local Time, 18:21 GMT, 23:51 IST: Covers coming on.. Drizzle has gotten steady and the players along with the officials are back to the pavilion. Great comeback by Pakistan after that onslaught by Tom Banton. The entire square is covered now as I see droplets of rain on the camera. Wow, there's a rainbow in the background too. As the players take an uncalled break, you can check this out..

Amir to Jordan, wide, short and quick down the leg side, Jordan attempts a glance but gets beaten. The keeper thought there was something on it, but there was nothing on it. There's a flat line on UltraEdge and Pakistan lose another review

Amir to Jordan, leg byes, FOUR, extras for England, but they won't mind this. Shortish delivery on the pads as it beats Jordan's glance and glides down to fine leg off his pads

Mohammad Amir [2.0-0-13-0] is back into the attack

Sachin K: Great comeback from Pakistan and Cricbuzz!

Imad Wasim to Gregory, out Stumped!! This seems to be a terrific comeback by Pakistan. These wickets have got them back in the game. After that carnage by Banton, they needed something like this, and the spinners are helping them to get back in it. Gregory shimmies down the wicket and the bowler fires it outside off, beating him with this quicker one. Rizwan is onto it in a flash as he breaks the bails in no time. Imad Wasim to Gregory, THATS OUT!! Stumped!!
