Match abandoned without a ball being bowled (no toss)
This was inevitable, rain has the final say and Game 3 of the series is a washout. England can't lose this series now, but both teams will be hoping for a full match on the 30th as they build-up to the World Cup. Hopefully, the forecast gets better and we'll have some cricket in London. Do join for the final game on Thursday. For now, cheers and bye..
20:00 Local Time, 19:00 GMT, 00:30 IST: We'll have an inspection in 10 minutes time (8:10 pm), but it has started to rain once again
19:45 Local Time, 18:45 GMT, 00:15 IST: Some good news coming in, it has stopped raining and the groundstaff have started up the cleaning process.
19:35 Local Time, 18:35 GMT, 00:05 IST: Nothing much to report, it's still raining in Cardiff and we could well be on our way towards a second washout of the series. The final match of this series at Kennington Oval on Thursday and the forecast isn't great there either.
19:00 Local Time, 18:00 GMT, 23:30 IST: The cut-off time for a 5-over contest is 9:16 pm
18:50 Local Time, 17:50 GMT, 23:20 IST: It's still raining and there are plenty of umbrellas in the crowd. We should have started to lose overs by now
18:30 Local Time, 17:30 GMT, 23:00 IST: We should have started by now, but it's still raining and that will keep all of us waiting.
18:10 Local Time, 17:10 GMT, 22:40 IST: The forecast was for 60% chance of rain around this time and it has sadly proven to be correct. It's still raining and we're fast approaching a time from where we'll start losing overs
17:55 Local Time, 16:55 GMT, 22:25 IST: Not great news from the weather front. It's raining at the moment in Cardiff and the covers are back in place. The forecast though is improving and we should get a match in. We've a buffer of 30 minutes before we start to lose overs
17:45 Local Time, 16:45 GMT, 22:15 IST: England won convincingly in Edgbaston and took a 1-0 lead in what is now a 3-match T20I series. The results don't really matter, all the matches are just a precursor towards the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup, starting in a few day's time in the West Indies and United States of America (USA). But winning is a habit and England will look to keep the ball rolling. They'll be without regular captain Jos Buttler, who has been given a parental break. Moeen Ali will lead in his absence in near perfect conditions at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Toss and team news coming up shortly..
