That's it from the first ODI. We had much pleasure in dishing out this game to you. Pakistan managed to hold their nerves. But Netherlands will look to better their efforts from today. We will be back soon with more action. Bye bye!
Babar Azam: I am relieved. Fakhar scored a lovely century. The wicket was double-paced. We should have done better. These are challenging conditions. There was a bit of moisture on the wicket.
Scott Edwards: It hurts. We are getting ourselves into good positions. We dropped 3-4 catches. It was a sort of surface which suits us. We have improved throughout the summer but we let ourselves down today.
Fakhar Zaman: It was my lucky day. The wicket wasn't easy. We could have done better. My elbow is fine despite the wasp sting. We were just surviving but when we realized we had enough wickets, we went for it. I always enjoy batting with Babar.
19:25 Local Time, 17:25 GMT, 22:55 IST: Netherlands have fought valiantly against a Pakistan side which had a potent bowling line up. But the wickets at key moments kept pegging the chase back and Netherlands in the end fell short by 16 runs. 315 was always a big task and they lost two early wickets as well. But Cooper joined Singh and the partnership revived a few hopes. But Cooper fell and the scratchy fifty from Singh also ended soon after the departure of Cooper. But then the skipper of Netherlands took matter into his own hands but didn't garner enough support from the other end. Earlier, Pakistan stuttered, flourished, stuttered and flourished again to end with 314. Fakhar Zaman's ton, Azam's fifty and Shadab's cameo paved the way for the big score. Netherlands looked pretty much down but did well to come so close in the game.

Haris Rauf to Edwards, 1 run, whips that down to long leg and that is it. Pakistan take 10 points and win this by 16 runs. They also take a 1-0 lead
Haris Rauf to Edwards, FOUR, whipped away off the pads and Shah at deep backward square lets it spill through his legs for a four. Has been a gem of a knock from him but he needed more support
Haris Rauf to Aryan Dutt, 1 run, pumps it down to long-on for a single. Only a single and that will reduce the margin of defeat a little
Haris Rauf to Edwards, byes, 1 run, slower delivery, outside off, Edwards looks to heave it big and misses. The keeper fumbles and allows a single. Edwards is a crestfallen
Haris Rauf to Edwards, 2 runs, cramped for room on the pull and has been mistimed away to deep square. Not the best throw and they come back for a brace. Sixes off all balls from here on is what the home team needs
Haris Rauf to Edwards, no run, well disguised slower delivery, Edwards looks to slog it big and misses. 26 needed off 5 balls now

Naseem Shah to Aryan Dutt, FOUR, and not a great end to a good spell from Naseem Shah. He has been pretty impressive on debut. He has been quick and versatile as well but ends his spell by conceding a four. 26 needed off the last over
Naseem Shah to Aryan Dutt, no ball, right up there and in the blockhole. Aryan Dutt backs away to dig it out. Naseem has overstepped
Naseem Shah to Edwards, 1 run, dabs another slower delivery down to deep third man for a single
Naseem Shah to Edwards, 2 runs, short, slower, Edwards goes across and helps it just past short fine for a brace. Didn't time it that well
Naseem Shah to Aryan Dutt, 1 run, tucks an incoming delivery to deep mid. They get a single. But a herculean task awaits the skipper of Netherlands. 34 off 9 isn't going to be easy
Naseem Shah to Aryan Dutt, no run, fuller length delivery, angling in, clipped to mid-wicket and Edwards wanted a single only to be sent back. The man at mid-wicket under-armed the throw at the bowler's end but missed
Aryan Dutt, right handed bat, comes to the crease
Naseem Shah to Tim Pringle, out Lbw!! It had to be out. Looked dead. Pakistan looking for an early closure. That tailed in and Tim Pringle missed the fuller delivery to be trapped in front of the sticks. Was a quick ball and Tim Pringle failed to get the bat in time and in line. Third scalp for Naseem Shah who has been very impressive. Tim Pringle lbw b Naseem Shah 0(1)
Naseem Shah to Tim Pringle, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!
