New Zealand's unbeaten streak this summer continues. They are going from strength to strength. Pakistan, meanwhile, have plenty of issues to address. Shadab Khan and Hafeez bailed their team out of trouble in the first and second games respectively, but the Babar Azam-less batting line-up could post only a moderate score on both occasions. There were plenty of misfields too. Can they come up with a better performance in the dead rubber at Napier? Join us on Tuesday to find that out. Until then, goodbye..
Kane Williamson: You try to shift your focus. It was an emotional ten days. You try to play the role as well as you can, the boys have been playing so beautifully. We know how strong this Pakistan team is. Really satisfying to get across the line. Fantastic innings by Seifert there, a really good effort with the ball. It was a good surface, there was something for the bowlers and you could build partnerships. We were chasing a par total and a couple of wickets would have made it more difficult for us. Seifert was banging it around and took the pressure off. We know the quality of their attack and it's never certain over. They pulled it back and made the game a lot tighter. We'll look to improve in the next game adapt to the conditions we get in Napier
Shadab Khan: Tough game for us, powerplay cost us the game. It's not a technique issue, the conditions were a bit difficult. We'll take positives from Hafeez's knock. Hopefully, we do better in the next game. As a senior player and as the captain, I take responsibility. We get boosted by the crowd, hopefully, we can put up a better show in the next game.
Tim Southee, Player of the Match - 'The ball was swinging a bit, nice to get the job done tonight. Could hold the shape, put in the right areas and ask questions. We have played a lot of cricket here, a familiar venue for us. A few personnel changes, but we were all excited, but chopping and changing is never easy. They're a quality side, would be disappointed over the results - but we know they will come hard at us.'
22:10 Local Time, 09:10 GMT, 14:40 IST: A stroll in the park for New Zealand. Tim Southee got the ball to swing upfront and the Pakistan top-order had no answers against him. Mohammad Hafeez was the lone warrior in the Pakistan line-up with his 99 and accounted for 61% of his team's total - which was below-par. New Zealand, in reply, got off to a brisk start with Martin Guptill coming out all guns blazing. His wicket didn't hamper the hosts as Seifert started from where he left at the Eden Park. While he kept going after the Pakistan bowlers, captain Williamson was happy to nudge it around and play second fiddle. But in the second half of the partnership, the roles reversed with KW shifting gears. Pakistan bowled a couple of tight overs towards the end, but the result was a foregone conclusion. Hang around for the presentations....
Faheem Ashraf to Williamson, FOUR, a drop and it's four! Williamson walks across towards off and heaves this length ball over square leg. Wahab Riaz, a few inches in front of the boundary rope, leaps to his right, but could only get fingertips to it. One bounce and over the ropes. New Zealand win by nine wickets and seal the series with a game to go
Faheem Ashraf to Williamson, no run, a dot! 136.5kph, fuller than good length wide of off, Williamson dances down the pitch and wafts his bat, misses
Well, well, it's come down to the final over. 4 needed. Faheem Ashraf conceded just 2 off his previous over. What can he do now?
