That innings from Hashim Amla proved to be a match-losing one for his team. He did his job perfectly well till the 40th over but failed to hit those muscular hits in the slog overs. And in the modern game, finishing with the strike rate of 90 after batting for 50 overs on a batting friendly deck is ordinary stuff. Pakistan were professional today but let's see which Pakistan team turns out in Durban on tuesday. That's it for today, this is Varun Dixit signing off on behalf of Sagar Chawla, Nikhil Jadhav and Harish. Goodnight and take good care!
Sarfaraz Ahmed: This performance is a great team effort. Imam, Babar and Hafeez did the job for us. In the middle part of the innnings Shadab, Imad and Hafeez did a good job. I am always like that (On asked about being nervous in the dressing room).
Mohammad Hafeez, Man of the Match: It was a team effort. We were confident to chase this total down and everyone responded really well. Winning the first match is very important as it gives the momentum. When we restricted them to 266, we were very sure that we will chase the total down. Fakhar and Imam gave us a good start and then it was a total team effort.
Faf du Plessis: We were 10-15 runs short. The foundation was good but we could not added those extra runs in the end. They batted really well. These games is all about learning for us. We have had a great couple of weeks but today was a great learning curve for us. In-form Hashim is really important for us. Amla showed intent from the starting for us and his innings is a positive for us. They bowled really well in the middle overs. They bowled better than us in that phase.
20:46 Local Time, 18:46 GMT, 00:16 IST: Pakistan chased this total down in a clinical fashion. The target which South Africa set proved to be below par. There was absolutely nothing happeing off the deck and Pakistan batted brilliantly in the batting friendly conditions. Their openers started off in a fine fashion. After Fakhar's departure Imam and Babar added 94 runs and that provided a good platform for the visitors. Imam's innings of 86 proved to be extremly handy. The departure of Babar Azam brought Hafeez to the crease and he played an absolute gem. He timed the ball beautifully right from the start and took the responsibility on him to take the team home with an amazing fifty. There were some minor blips in the end as Malik and skipper Sarfraz departed cheaply but Hafeez showed the experience and he along with Shadab powered the team over the line with five balls to spare. Hang on for the presentations.
Rabada to Shadab Khan, 1 run, Shadab Khan punches the air in delight and Pakistan open their winning account on this tour. They take the 1-0 lead in this five match ODI series. It was a yorker on the stumps, Shadab Khan gets enough bat on the push. He hits it wide of mid-on and completes the run with ease. Finally something to cheer for Mickey Arthur and Pakistan's fans

Olivier
10-0-73-2
Olivier to Hafeez, FOUR, this will seal the match for Pakistan. Another short of length delivery, four in the row. This is ordinary stuff from Olivier. He can't be so predictable at this level. Hafeez was waiting for it, he gets in a good position and powers the pull wide of deep mid-wicket for a boundary. Scores are tied now!
Olivier to Hafeez, no run, another bumper, Hafeez was early on the pull shot, it hits his shoulder and reaches the keeper
Olivier to Hafeez, 2 runs, another short of length delivery from Olivier, he gets on top of the ball and pulls it wide of deep mid-wicket for a double
Olivier to Hafeez, 2 runs, in the air, just behind the keeper who was running back. It was a short of length delivery on the body, Hafeez pulls but it comes off the top-edge and pops up in the air, Klassen fails to reach it
Olivier to Shadab Khan, 1 run, runs it down to third man for a single. Smart cricket!
Olivier to Shadab Khan, FOUR, that's the boundary Shadab Khan needed. That's the boundary Pakistan needed. It was a length delivery on the leg-stump, Shadab Khan backs away to manufacture room and tonk it wide of mid-off for a boundary
14 offf 12!

Rabada to Shadab Khan, 1 run, short of length delivery on the body, Shadab Khan pulls it wide of fine leg who moves across swiftly and restrict batsmen to a single
Rabada to Shadab Khan, no run, nails the perfect yorker, Shadab Khan could only push it to cover
Rabada to Shadab Khan, 2 runs, two bumpers followed by a slower one, Shadab Khan picks it up early, waits for it and steers it wide of third man and they will come back for a brace. Good running!
Rabada to Shadab Khan, no run, another bouncer. Shadab Khan sways away from the line, ducks under it and it thuds into the gloves of the keeper
Rabada to Shadab Khan, no run, bumper with a lot of venom. Shadab Khan moves back and wanted to upper cut it over the keeper. He ended up going too much down the leg-side and was nowhere close to the ball while executing the stroke
Rabada to Hafeez, 1 run, rises in the crease and opens the face of the bat to guide it to third man
