Three games so far and we had two no-results, thanks to Guyana torrential rain bouts. The Windies will have to win the final game to draw level in the series, and the weather on Tuesday looks a bit iffy for now. Let's hope we can get a full game. Until next time, goodbye and good night!!

The umpire's have had a good look, at the outfield, the bowler run-ups and the pitch. Now, they are talking to the two captains. Misbah-ul-Haq is present as well. The ground has drained well, but have we run out of time for a 5-over encounter? Phil Simmons joins in the conversation as well. Pollard is sporting a smile as he chats with Babar. They shake hands now and that means the game has been abandoned. We'll wait for the official word, so do the sizeable crowd at the Providence stadium and yes, the match has been officially called off

2:05 pm: As I type, the umpires are having an inspection. We're 17 minutes away from the scheduled cut-off time, should get to know if we will see any more action today rather soon.

1:50 pm: More encouraging news, the pitch has been uncovered and players from both teams are in the midst of conversations. There's a fair bit of blue skies overhead and we could be getting a shortened match.

1:40 pm: We have had some live pictures and there's nothing much to tell. The groundstaff are still removing the excess water off the covers and off the ground as well. The umpires are having a keen look, but we're fast running out of time. We have just a little over 40 minutes for play to start.

12:50 Local Time: The rain has stopped and the groundsmen are working on removing all the water. This will take a lot of doing. Umpires discuss and it's pretty admirable to see so much water disappear on the outfield. Tells you about the drainage. But there's quite a lot on the covers though. So they are carefully taking the sheets off. 14:22 is the cut off time for 5-over contest. This suddenly looks promising for a 6-7 over contest at least. Fingers crossed!

12:20 Local Time: Although we are not anywhere close to even thinking of an umpire inspection, we have started to lose overs.

Mohit: After how many matches Gayle is opening can anyone tell? -- Gayle opening in T20Is for the first time since March 8, 2019.

12:04 local: Live pictures show quite a few water puddles on the outfield as it continues to drizzle in Guyana. Just a very light drizzle. But the outfield was a proper lake 20 odd minutes ago with so much water and you could hardly see grass. Both Babar and Rizwan can be seen tiptoeing as they take a stroll across the ground now. It's looking pretty bad and will take some drying before we resume. Plenty of water on the covers too. More updates as and when we have it...

Aamir Ameen: Babar at 3 giving more stability into the batting lineup, even Fakhar is playing his role at 4. Looking at bigger picture, this series is all for testing Sharjeel khan from the Pakistan side.

11:45 local: I'm afraid we might not see play anytime soon. The rain seems to be pretty heavy and there's thunder along with it which suggests a long delay ahead of us.

Shuaib Uvais: Would love to see Shoaib Maqsood open with Mohamed Rizwan. Shoaib Maqsood had a high success rate playing top the order during the PSL 6. I think this is the right game for Pakistan to experiment new combinations ahead of the world cup in UAE.

11:22 local: It's bucketing down now. The rain returns and so do the covers on the square. The players rush back to the pavilion and there's still some time before we start losing overs. Hopefully we will return with a positive update, stay tuned...
