So, only the second time in 34 years we have a no-result in white ball cricket in the UAE. That's some wow stat. Trophy - shared. Smiles - shared. Cheque - shared. Players from both sides gather around to pose for the cameras. Hasan Ali, as ever, tries to don the centre-of-attention role as Shadab Khan plays hide-and-seek in the midst of a vibrant camera-clicking session. There will be few arrivals and a few departures amongst this group as the 3-match Test series kickstarts on Friday, the 16th of November. We wish to have your company all along. Thanks for joining us; au revoir from Raju peethala on behalf of Nikhil Jadhav and Harish Vutakuru.

Tom Latham: It was an exciting series, unfortunately it finished off in a washout. That's cricket, I guess. It was a challenge coming to the UAE and playing in these conditions. It was an outstanding performance by Lockie tonight and he did the same throughout the series. Hopefully we'll keep progressing forward. The challenge will be getting used to the surfaces here and we need to adapt quickly as they're different as compared to the ones we got back home.

Sarfraz Ahmed: It was a good series overall, as we made a good comeback after losing the first ODI. If it hadn't rained, the game was in our hands today. We went in with a different combination today. We have to play against South Africa next, so we are preparing keeping that in mind. If we have such a good batting line-up and the batsmen keep contributing, we can perform well in future matches. Shaheen is improving with every passing game and he'll prove to be a good option against South Africa. He needs to work more on his bowling if he has to perform well against South Africa. New Zealand have the players who can hang in there and play the long innings, we were aware of that.

Shaheen Afridi, Man of the Series: I have played three-match game series for the first time, so am happy with this award. I am learning something new with every passing day and I am trying to stick to my basics. With the new ball landing the ball in right areas is much needed. I'll try to repeat my performance in the Test matches as well.

Lockie Ferguson, Man of the Match: I had to change the plans from the last two games. I am happy with the wickets and the way the we bowled at death. Unfortunate to not get the full game today. I was trying things little bit different as getting wickets on such wickets is difficult in the middle overs. Pace is my strength as I can't swing the ball much, not a huge swinger. It's like horses for courses, need to change the plan every time. It's exciting when you pick up wickets, that's always nice. I am working on my game and trying to be better and it feels good to be a successful fast bowler.

Only 6.5 overs of play was possible before rain come rushing down to pay an occasional visit in Dubai. Until that point, Pakistan dictated proceedings with a challenging total on board, thanks to solid contributions from three of their top four: Fakhar Zaman (65), Harris Sohail (60)and Babar Azam (fell 8 short of his hundred). New Zealand's most impressive bowler of the series - Lockie Ferguson - recorded his maiden fifer in limited overs cricket and asides from his contribution, the visitors looked pretty average with the ball and the chase too didn't get to the best of starts with Munro getting knocked over for a second ball duck. Could have a been a testing phase for the visitors without their skipper Williamson, but rain had the final say and one would agree that New Zealand were a far better side than what one saw in the T20Is.

21:59 Local Time, 17:59 GMT, 23:29 IST: Well, well! Called off. The umpires have inspected the conditons and felt that the ground wasn't match-ready to resume things. Both captains shake hands and that's that. The series shared 1-1.

21:19 Local Time, 17:19 GMT, 22:49 IST: The rain seems to have eased off a bit but we've lost approximately 15 overs by now. Play likely to resume in a while, all depends on the umpires now.

20:48 Local Time, 16:48 GMT, 22:18 IST: Here's some positive news via Blackcaps twitter handle: The rain has eased but covers firmly on & we are losing overs (5 & counting)

We've started losing overs! The revised targets in case of a shortened game would be: 250 in 40 overs | 209 in 30 overs | 153 in 20 overs.

20:26 Local Time, 16:26 GMT, 21:56 IST: Still raining in Dubai, going to be long wait... it seems!

19:46 Local Time, 15:46 GMT, 21:16 IST: The umpires are having a chat and guess they have had enough of this frustrating yet steady drizzle. They've asked the players to leave the field as super soppers announce their appearance into the middle. Its getting quite heavier as I type this. Lo! Play stopped due to rain in Dubai and yes, you read that right. Back with further updates as and when we have it. You can indulge in a bit of tab/screen-swiping (#INDvWI, #INDvPAK) until then...
