Not everyday you see a batsman scoring 300 and thinking his team is gonna lose. Well just! Not everyday you witness a disciplined knock on day 5. Not everyday you see a West Indies fightback (With all due respect to their history). As Holder acknowledged, there were signs of improvement which should keep the Caribbean boys get out of that strangled zone. Test matches finishing in the final hour is a rare sight these days. Agree? And BTW, Darren Bravo has become the first batsman to score a hundred in 4th innings of a Day-Night Test. First Day-Night Test in UAE has been a success, but lot of questions surround over the shape of the seam. Yes, it's the pink ball we are talking about. ICC got some work to do. Next Test starts on 21st, and it will be a Day affair. Never thought I would say that about a Test match. I'll see thee. Goodbye from Raju Peethala on behalf of my colleague Sagar Chawla.
Misbah: "That's the beauty of the game. The way Pakistan team is playing, we're just keeping the interest of people alive. At the end, wonderful Test match, the way Bishoo bowled and they came back into the game. Even in the first innings, Windies batted well against Yasir and then in the second innings they put us in trouble even though we played some loose shots. And then Bravo batted beautifully today. Can't really blame the pitch only. The pink ball is something new. In the last session when there is dew, the ball gets softer. Nobody knows how it's going to react or affect the game. Never know how it's going to behave. Pitch played slowly for the first three days and then there was something for the bowlers. Good bowlers like Yasir Shah got something out of the pitch. It's always good for our team also if we play cricket under pressure. If the youngsters can handle it, nothing is difficult in the future for them. Full credit to West Indies, they are a young team. We think they can give us a tough time in the upcoming matches. Younis Khan practiced hard today and looked fit. The kind of person he is, if he's here he'll definitely be 100% - that's a big sigh of relief for me. Big thank you to the crowd especially today. They cheered for us and lifted our spirits."
Holder: "It was all about fight. I'm impressed with the boys. Credit should go to the Pakistan players for pulling off a win, credit must also go to our boys. Bishoo and Bravo in particular. There are signs of improvement definitely which is good to see. Unfortunately Marlon got out first ball, he was a crucial man for us. Thought Bravo would hang in there and see us off. But I'm disappointed that we couldn't finish it off in the end. Yasir is a world-class bowler and he used the rough well to trouble us. It was good match in the end."
Azhar Ali - Man of the Match - "Winning is very important, finishing on the winning side is very important. Pink ball experience was good, I really enjoyed batting here, the conditions were tough for bowling. Once I got a start, I wanted to make a big one and glad I got it. It gives me a boost to keep working hard. I'm trying my best to get better and the performances come along. I think international cricket is all about challenges. Whatever the team needs from me, I will try to put my best."
22:46 Local Time, 18:46 GMT, 00:16 IST: Heck! What a Test match. What a fight. In the end, we were treated to one helluva classic Test cricket on day 5. Pakistan thoroughly dominated proceedings until three-and-half days, led by Azhar Ali's mammoth knock. Little did they knew about what was to come in their second assignment. Took Bishoo for granted and nearly Bishoo-ed themselves out of the game. West Indies will remember this Test match for the kind of fight, discipline and concentration they have put - The key parameters, if you want to win a game in the longer format. Bravo played a masterful knock and gave his team a sniff of victory. However, Yasir Shah - who was under the scanner throughout on day 5 - Pulled off a bonzer of a catch to seal West Indies' hopes and Pakistan's inevitable result. Holder invested every ounce of his energy and intent to steer his team past the winning line, but he was left helpess post Bravo's dismissal. Presentations imminent...
