A real heady mix. And it's going to take us some time to down it. But all in all, a day this series was shouting out for. Just goes on to show the mettle the South Africans have in them - non-malleable - when it's a bilateral. A day that sets things up perfectly for Sunday. I've been Vineet Anantharaman bringing you the action in the company of Pratyush Sinha and Krishna. Now off to the freezer for some ice - bruised fingers syndrome. Ta ta!!

Chris Morris, Man of the Match: We showed a lot of fight. We've been going through a tough time as a side but am glad with the courage we displayed. It is an honour to play for South Africa and we showed that. Yes we felt we were 20 runs short and with the short boundaries knew we had to bowl well. It was good fun (the second spell). In a T20 it is easy to lie down and get things done with but we showed heart and am really proud. It wouldn't be a bad wicket to take around with me. Quite enjoyed the wicket. Not just me, all the bowlers did really well. All round a great performance from the boys. A serious game of cricket now in Cardiff. Someone has to be on the losing side but we'll try our best to not be on that side.

A shout out to Phehlukwayo and Paterson for keeping their nerve, at a time when most would have expected what we've come expecting of the Proteas - a choke. But England have managed some collapse - 5 wickets, 46 runs. With some dead straight yorkers and some nervy shots, we have the series taken to Cardiff. Hang in, the presentations coming your way..

Google, keep a tab on where Phehlukwayo is headed. He is unstoppable. Takes off on a celebratory run. Well his lungs give away his position. And now is engulfed by the rest of his side. South Africa have pulled off a theft. A theft for they had no business of owning this game at the three-fourth stage. With Roy and Bairstow going bonkers in the middle overs and the task seemingly sealed with Morkel having bowled out as well, the inexperience stepped up. Morris started the key turn sending Bairstow back. Roy was sentenced. And the rest, under fading lights just couldn't see the task home.

Phehlukwayo to Liam Dawson, no run, right there. Right under the bat. Right to the keeper. South Africa stay alive. For a change have the opponents under the 'C' word. Dawson walks, another set of stumps across. And Phehlukwayo keeps his head in firing the wide one, outside off . Sneaks its way under the bat

Phehlukwayo to Liam Dawson, FOUR, NO. Not quite. Dawson refuses to let our nerves settle. Gets a half volley, the pressure filled delivery in the slot outside off and swings hard in lofting the slog over mid-off. 4 now off the final ball

Liam Plunkett, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Phehlukwayo to Livingstone, out Livingstone Run Out!! 1 run completed. And now we have a run-out as well. Just when we thought things couldn't quite choke enough. What's more - it is just a single. Livingstone looks to go with some cheek as he deals with a high full toss. Laps it with a crouch to fine leg. And he wants the strike, without Dawson bothering to look at him. The outcome - both batsmen at the same end. South Africa bang on top. Livingstone run out (Morne Morkel/Mosehle/Phehlukwayo) 16(18) [4s-1]

Phehlukwayo to Livingstone, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!

19.3

Phehlukwayo to Liam Dawson, 1 run, make the singles count three now. The boundaries refuse to be found. The lack of wood once again as he throws the bat out to skew it down to third man

19.2

Phehlukwayo to Livingstone, 1 run, moves away. And is responded with another wide dart. All he manages is a slash out to extra cover. 10 off 4

19.1

Phehlukwayo to Liam Dawson, 1 run, goes wide. Outside off. Sliced away, once again without timing into the off-side. Has to make his peace with just a run

12 needed. A super over is never ruled out. The ground has gone pretty dark at the moment. And to add to the spice, there are no floodlights installed as yet. We need to take match a year from now for artificial lights to come on

Dane Paterson to Liam Dawson, 1 run, a low full in welcome. Dug out for the single, nothing more. To mid-on

Liam Dawson, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Dane Paterson to Eoin Morgan, out Caught by de Villiers!! The screw turns. Yet again. Ever so slowly. This time to a full toss. Dipping in as Morgan shapes himself for a smashing downtown. Is made to wait, oh the agonizer. And when he swings the bat, all he manages is the toe end chipping up in the air to mid-on, who once again loses the ball. But it is AB mind you. He spots balls even in his sleep. Eoin Morgan c de Villiers b Dane Paterson 6(4) [4s-1]

Dane Paterson to Eoin Morgan, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Dane Paterson to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, hammered down. And hammered straight. Mid-on loses sight of the ball as Morgan drills it straight, how only he can. England inch closer

18.3

Dane Paterson to Livingstone, 1 run, a broken bat. If there was some dearth in action, we have overcompensated. All in digging out a yorker - on the stumps this time

18.3

Dane Paterson to Livingstone, wide, another flirt. Another dismiss. Ahh, the harsh realities. This one looked good, it really did. Alas, I am sitting miles away in front of a screen. Livingstone once again misses the stab on a perfectly sent down wide yorker. Nah, not quite
