Brutal - this is how you can define cricket. One bad match and England were shown the doors at the Champions Trophy but within days they have proved how good a team they are. Got some new faces in the side, still made South Africa look so mediocre on their day. This English team has some bright days ahead for them. South Africa have to figure out a new channel to get out of the predicament. They won't have ABD for the Test series and that makes things tougher for them. But having said that I have a hunch that the Proteas will come back hard in the Test series. We will bring all the action from the red-ball cricket as well. Until we meet next time, bye!
Morgan takes the trophy and the spray of champagne follows
Buttler: I thought we had a really good score. Dawid Malan batted on a different wicket altogether to the rest of us, he made it look really good on debut. The guys knew exactly their plans on the field. Credit to the guys, they pretty much captained themselves. Curran is 22 but he knows what he has to do. Liam Plunkett has been pretty consistent for us for two years. Did not want to go to too many slower balls, the pitch had a bit of variations in it. You look around teams around the world, there are players missing out due to injuries or resting guys. Dawid Malan produced what he has been doing outside the team. There's always pressure to come and perform. Outstanding from these guys (Livingstone and Malan).
de Villiers: I think so, it's a tough question but they played better cricket throughout the series. We gave a probably 20 odd more runs in the field and that cost us. Not catching and all but we fumbled a bit. We let it go in the first 10 overs. Credit to Dane Paterson for an amazing spell today. Liam Plunkett and a couple of seam bowlers bowled really well. It is really difficult to get away with a bit of pressure. Only 19 runs short. It comes down to what we did on the field today. I was always going to go, I was ready for his next over as well. Credit to him (Mason Crane), stuck to his guns and got me out in the end. He was always going to be the guy to go after.
Dawid Malan: It was (worth waiting for). I thought it would never come but then it was my opportunity and wanted to show what I can do. It does get tough but then you look at someone like Bairstow who cannot be in the team full time. The first few balls, there were sort of nerves. To play for your country is a fantastic experience. It was pretty tough to score on good lengths. Was two paced for sure. Was tough to score when they bowled variations. It was a good score. Definitely, after one game, you cannot think you have made it. With these guys in the team, you have got to keep making runs.
Dawid Malan is the Man of the Match

This has been sort of a forgettable tour for South Africa so far - lost the ODI series, then were not even close to their best at the Champions Trophy and now the 2-1 loss in the T20I series. They have not been the kind of team they are known to be. Could have lost the series in the last match itself but England lost the plot in the end. While the visitors had the momentum going into the game today, they frittered it, to be left embarrassed in the end. We will have the presentations soon...
It becomes difficult.. oh wait, impossible when the entire batting line-up revolves around one man. Having fought hard during the fag end of the English innings, South Africa had their nose ahead, not because of the target they were chasing but because of how the momentum had swung their way. The batsmen, though, had different plans. Smuts's 29 came off 30 balls, putting a mountain of pressure on de Villiers who tried it all. But one shot too many and he perished, leaving the Proteas in a whirlpool of miseries.

Jordan to Morne Morkel, FOUR, over mid-off and four. But England win. They win the series 2-1. Length delivery on the stumps, Morne Morkel backs away and lofts over the fielder inside the ring and it races away. The players walk off with stumps in hand, patting, congratulating, arms-around-each-other. Morgan is out there congratulating his boys. They have sealed the series today without him and that shows the quality and depth in this English set-up
Jordan to Phehlukwayo, 1 run, low full toss on the stumps, Phehlukwayo can only get a single to third man
Jordan to Phehlukwayo, no ball, high full toss, over the waist, Phehlukwayo mistime the slog behind square and doesn't run. No-ball called and he will face the free-hit
Jordan to Phehlukwayo, 2 runs, heaved to deep mid-wicket, Morne Morkel is very slow in getting back for the second and since the throw is wide of Jordan, he makes it in. Jordan got it back on the stumps, but Morkel stretched to get in
Jordan to Phehlukwayo, FOUR, backs away and slugs it wide of long-on. Picked the length ball on the stumps and stayed back to hit it
Jordan to Phehlukwayo, FOUR, what sort of a shot that is from Phehlukwayo. Sat down on one knee and top-edged the sweep, to a length delivery sliding across him. Clears short fine and it's one bounce over the ropes
This is over barring a miracle of miracles. Even then I can't see SA winning.
Jordan to Morne Morkel, 1 run, good length on off, clubbed to mid-off. Easy run
Chris Jordan [3.0-0-14-3] is back into the attack
Morne Morkel, left handed bat, comes to the crease

Tom Curran to Mosehle, out Caught by Billings!! High full toss and caught at deep mid-wicket. They are checking whether it's over the waist. Looks fine. The ball dipped as soon as it reached Mosehle, who lost all shape on the shot. Spliced it to the man in the deep and the third umpire makes the call of sending Mosehle off. So Tom Curran ends in impressive fashion. Mosehle c Billings b Tom Curran 36(22) [4s-1 6s-4]
