You better not blame the groundsmen. We're in the second half of June at the end of what has been a scorching summer, and it's a miracle in itself that we're getting these full uninterrupted games in the first place. But it doesn't take away the fact that this pitch had proper day five feels. Spitting cobras, batsmen getting bruised, ball turning square. What it also doesn't take away, is the fact that Dinesh Karthik 2.0 is a real thing. We, at Cricbuzz, have trained him well during his stint here. That's all we have for you for the night then, as I, Vineet Anantharaman, sign off on behalf of Akshay Maanay, Ramakrishnan MS and our scorer Mukesh Gowda. Until Bengaluru, and hopefully some day one feels again, ta ta!!

Dinesh Karthik | PotM: Just feels good. I am feeling very secure in this setup. In the last game things didn't go according to plan, but I went and expressed myself today. I think DK is thinking a little better. He is able to assess situations better and that comes with practice. Credit to my coach. They bowled brilliantly upfront and made it tough for us. It was a tough pitch to bat on. It was hard to hit boundaries. Our openers have usually been kind enough to get us off to good starts. When I went in Hardik told me to take my time. It was important that players who have been around for long need to stand up on such pitches. Bangalore is a home ground for me. I haven't played with RCB, but have played a lot over there. It is good to see a bilateral series going down to the final match. To see the pressure being absorbed in the third and fourth games was something we would relish. Credit to Rahul Dravid; there is a certain sense of calmness. The dressing room is a calm place right now. It is important to learn to embrace pressure. It feels secure and fuzzy. That clarity and the environment helped.

Rishabh Pant | Winning captain: We talked about execution and playing better cricket and here are the results. Whichever team plays better cricket wins the game. Maybe I will toss with the right hand in the next game and be positive. Really happy with the way Hardik put up a show. DK went for the kill rightaway and that gave us the positivity. As an individual I can look to improve in certain areas. Not too concerned though; looking to take the positives and looking to improve. Let's see what happens in Bangalore. Looking forward to give our 100%.

Keshav Maharaj | Stand-in losing captain: Obviously didn't go according to plan in the last few overs, but we felt the pitch got a bit better at the end. It is the lack of adaptability on our side. We need to be a bit more proactive. We stifled ourselves in the powerplay. We didn't get any partnerships and just exploded. Their bowlers bowled really well too. DK played really well at the end but we need to have better plans and adapt better. India is a tough place for spinners to bowl with small grounds. There will be a lot of buzz at the ground in Bangalore. Expect it to be a cracker.

Avesh Khan: I am feeling really happy. It is my dad's birthday and want to dedicate this performance to him. The plan was to bowl up and attack the stumps, it was a two-paced wicket with the ball bouncing and keeping low, so use the odd bouncer and bowl good lengths. I brought the fine leg in and pushed mid-wicket back, forced RvD to go after the length ball, Rishabh then told me to bowl the leg-cutter after I had hit Jansen with a bouncer and for Maharaj also I bowled a slower ball on the hard length. We are playing well as a team, fielding well most importantly and bowling well, we back each other and will enjoy the last game. Yes, the winner will take the series and it is going to be a good match, we will give our 100 percent.

22:25 Local Time, 16:55 GMT, 22:25 IST: Okay, 2-2. The fireworks go off at the ground. India go into Bangalore with the series alive, and with the momentum firmly under their wings. This pitch was turning into some sort of a minefield towards the end of it, and South Africa's batting just couldn't handle the heat. They kept playing similar shots, and kept falling to similar dismissals. The ball was spitting around, and India's bowlers just kept it simple with their right lines into the pitch. Bavuma retired out after getting smacked on the elbow. Pretorius sold Quinton down the river, and then fell for a painful six-ball duck. Klaasen, Miller, Rassie and Jansen swung at everything, connected a few, missed a few more, and perished to end up with a massive 82-run defeat against their name. It's not that the match was ever out of India's grasp, but the 14th over, where Avesh Khan picked up a wicket every alternate ball, was the final nail in the coffin. Wait around, the presentations should be up shortly ..

Bavuma will not be coming out to bat.

Axar to Ngidi, out Caught by Gaikwad!! A whippy hoick, and a hole out at long-on. Also, handshakes. Also, a proper thrashing. It was almost an aimless lofted flick from Ngidi with Axar having floated this up full on middle-stump. It was miscued as well, and there was just no distance on it. Ngidi c Gaikwad b Axar 4(10)

Axar to Ngidi, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Axar to Ngidi, no run, flat, good length, angling in on middle. Defended

16.3

Axar to Ngidi, no run, slow, sneaking under Ngidi's swivelling pull. Tell you what, the off-stump wasn't all that far either ..

16.2

Axar to Shamsi, 1 run, shuffles again, and glances it behind square for a quick one

16.1

Axar to Shamsi, no run, walks across his stumps, and then quickly jumps away to chop this to short third man

15.6

Avesh Khan to Ngidi, 2 runs, 136.7kph, quite an easy length delivery outside off, punched through the covers. Surely not the stuff you bowl with a fifer for the taking

Aarush Verma: Pant's bowling changes have been spot on today. Every time he has changed a bowler, it has resulted in a wicket. Good captaincy from him in this match.

15.5

Avesh Khan to Ngidi, no run, 134.8kph, bouncer again, at pace, and it's an easier leave

15.4

Avesh Khan to Ngidi, no run, 137.5kph, a flat-footed slap, and a toe-end rolling away to point
