PLAYER OF THE MATCH : Martin Guptill
Bowler
With the series level at 2-2, the 5th ODI at Eden Park promises to be a thriller. New Zealand have the momentum with them, and a boisterous crowd must be awaiting them at Auckland. Should be good fun. Join us for that too. Until then, ta-ta!

Martin Guptill is the Player of the Match. "Possibly the greatest knock I have ever seen," remarks his captain, Kane Williamson.

He made sure that New Zealand get runs off the newish ball, and then offset Taylor's little phase of struggle with prudent rotation of strike. And big hits, of course. South Africa, well, must be spooked: they had a total that felt above par, boasted of world's top ODI spinner in their ranks and were defending on a pitch that was a friend.. but they managed to drop past all of that. De Villiers batted well but Guptill was exemplary tonight.
08:38pm local: Martin Guptill's comebacks make for great stories. This is another one. Replaced Latham at the top of the order and smacked 180* off just 138 balls - the highest ODI score by a New Zealand batsman against South Africa and the second highest individual score at Hamilton. This innings has been a treat to watch. He's been lucky but to play an innings like that, on a pitch as slow as this, takes something. Sometimes, you have to stand and applaud.
Tahir to Guptill, 2 runs, New Zealand level series 2-2. there's a leading edge on this. Guptill closes the bat face early but the ball purrs through covers, allowing them to run the winning second run
Tahir to Guptill, SIX, he's allowed himself some swinging room by prodding his front leg out of the way and swung through. Over straightish long-on, say
Tahir to Guptill, SIX, goes with the turn on this googly - he's goggles on now at 166* - and slogs it all the way over mid-wicket
Tahir to Ronchi, 1 run, slight stutter again but mid-on's throw to the keeper is not good enough. Guptill rushes in
Tahir to Guptill, 1 run, Tahir has messed up a run out here but it may be too late to have an impact. Guptill mistimed a pull to long-off. The length wasn't quite there, the ball popped short of the fielder who fires the throw straight to Tahir, who flicks the bails off.. but with his hands. A proper execution and Guptill was gone. Bat was on the line
Tahir to Guptill, 2 runs, ticks a length delivery to fine leg

Parnell to Guptill, 1 run, almost carries to long-off. Full ball, Guptill lofts but he gets more height on this. Wanted to clear the fielder but has the rub of the green going his way. The ball drops short of Faf there
Parnell to Guptill, no run, too far outside off to try hacking that to the leg-side. Tries so and ends up mistiming it to mid-wicket
Parnell to Guptill, no run, blunts the spin on this cutter back down the pitch
Parnell to Guptill, no run, affords a dot ball. Defends it
Parnell to Guptill, FOUR, not in control but this will do. Slices the ball over covers but it's slightly wide, so has come off the cue-end. He had a big bat. Enough wood there to have the ball clearing the infield
Parnell to Guptill, no run, stays put and plunges the length ball to extra cover
Luke Ronchi, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Tahir to Ross Taylor, out Caught by Amla!! With 23 needed from 43, Tahir's got Taylor. Is undone by the dip here. Ran down to a full toss but isn't quite under this loft. Ends up tamely chipping it to mid-on. Ross Taylor c Amla b Tahir 66(97) [4s-7 6s-1]
