Elgar and Latham pose with the trophy as the series is shared. First it's the New Zealand team that poses for the cameras and the South African players join them soon. Was quite an entertaining Test series with plenty of impressive performances. Matt Henry stole the show in the first Test by claiming 9 wickets as the Proteas danced to his tunes. Whereas, Kagiso Rabada, Sarel Erwee, Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen notched up stellar performances this time around as South Africa managed to level the series on a slightly slower pitch as compared to the first Test. It was a pleasure bringing you the coverage of this 2-match Test series. We'll be back soon with some more cricketing action. For now, it's a goodbye from Nikhil, KAD, Hariprasad and Praveen. Ciao!

Dean Elgar | SA captain: Still remember that look on your face when I said I wanted to bat first. You got a better smile on your face now. It (electing to bat first) was a bold decision and luckily it paid off for us, else I would have looked like an idiot. This is a big one (win) playing away from home. Being one down and to bounce back. We needed to rise up and level the series. We got a long flight home, we have a lot of time to reflect on what happened. Our basics of the game went out of the window in the first game. We have shown in the past that we have a lot of characters in the team. You got to take 20 wickets to win a Test match, you got to take 40 wickets to win a Test series, but we weren't able to do that. It would be nice to be 1-0 up instead of being 1-0 down in a Test series. It's going to take time to get there. We need to be positive, it's only going to make us better moving forward.

Tom Latham | NZ captain: Not the outcome we were looking for. We were not able to build enough partnerships, weren't able to put up a good first innings score, so disappointed to be in this position. I guess the game was in the balance for a long time, but the key moments didn't go our way. We knew South Africa were going to be at their best, we were not able to break those partnerships yesterday. You don't want to leave up to the rain. Like I said we were not able to build the partnerships. Regardless of the conditions, we try to do better. The players are trying to get better, it's about finding a way with the tail as well. Huge thanks to the South African team for coming here, it's never easy with the quarantine protocols to be followed.

Matt Henry | Player of the Series: I think I had hopes coming into this game, but South Africa came back very strong. It was in the balance right throughout. But South Africa continued to get those partnerships. You got to be taking wickets, asking questions in order to win a Test match. You got to take 20 wickets. I was just trying to hang in there and survive. We were trying to take it ball by ball with the rain around.

Kagiso Rabada | Player of the Match: It's never easy playing against NZ, so we knew we had to get the job done. We have been in such situations before. NZ were just too good in the first Test, so we had to win this one, to make it 1-1. I would prefer to bowl on the wicket used for the first Test as a fast bowler. The lower order needed to put their hand up, and that's what we did. It was a last second decision to go for it (that catch) - and I'm glad I went for it and pulled it off.

Keshav Maharaj: It's always nice to end up on a winning note. Luckily the rain gods were on our side and managed to get us back on the field. Thanks to the coaching staff, I'm just working on my game and always waiting for the opportunity. I just want to make an impact in the team's win, I just keep bowling and bowling when I'm not playing and try to follow a routine. That has not only helped me from a motivational and confidence point of view, but also to contribute to the team's victory. The faith that Dean showed in me, I'm grateful for the opportunity. The coaches have been working with me in the nets and on the various aspects of my game.

15:44 Local Time, 02:44 GMT, 08:14 IST: South Africa beat New Zealand by a huge margin of 198 runs and have maintained their record of not losing a Test series on New Zealand soil intact. Having lost the first Test by an innings and 276 runs, it has been a tremendous comeback by Proteas. Sarel Erwee notched up his maiden Test century in the first innings and laid the foundation as South Africa ended with a total of 364. In reply, Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen bowled impressive spells as the visitors gained a sizeable first innings lead. In the second innings, South Africa lost three early wickets, but Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen steadied their sinking ship, and Kyle Verreynne's knock of 136 proved to be the knockout punch as South Africa managed to set a massive target of 426. Chasing such a massive target against such a quality bowling attack was always going to be tough. Rabada and Jansen were at it once again, and although Conway and Blundell tried hard to put up a fight, it wasn't going to be enough. Sipamla dismissed Conway, and from there it was just going to be a matter of time as the Proteas levelled the series. Time for the presentations..

Maharaj to Matt Henry, out Lbw!! Matt Henry has been given out LBW! Is that the match? He has decided to take a review, but I think he's gone! That's pad first, confirms UltraEdge. Three reds and Henry is the last man out. South Africa win and win big - by a margin of 198 runs. A floated delivery around middle and Matt Henry gets beaten on his front foot defence, before getting struck on the pads. Impact in line and it's crashing into the stumps, confirms the ball tracker. Hand shakes all around as the series ends with a scoreline of 1-1. A well deserved victory for South Africa. Matt Henry lbw b Maharaj 0(23)
