So, an old-fashioned low scoring humdinger to end the tour for South Africans. It started on a calamitous note for them, they improved drastically with white ball but were exposed against quality spin in the last two matches again. For Sri Lanka, last three matches were exactly what the doctor ordered for them. They will be oozing with confidence when they take on Asian giants in Asia Cup. That's it from us, this is Varun Dixit signing off on behalf of Akshay Maanay, Hariprasad and Vinod.
Angelo Mathews, winning captain: Of course, I had butterflies in my stomach in the end. We made the chase difficult. It is only us to blame, we kept losing wickets and made it tough. There is a lot of improvement in all the three departments. We can carry the momentum to Asia Cup, we are very high on confidence. I want to thank the fans, we let them down in the ODI series but still they came in numbers, supported us and I am glad that we gave them something back.
JP Duminy, losing captain: Another 30-40 runs would have made a huge difference. We tried a few things, unfortunately our execution wasn't there. There were a lot of soft dismissals in the last match, so we thought about playing attacking cricket but we could not execute our plans. We have learnt lots of lessons on this tour. We will take a lot of confidence on winning the ODI series. Spinners did the trick for them. For us, seamers did the damage. It was a good cricket wicket but 99 was never going to be enough. I enjoyed leading today, I wanted to lead from the front but couldn't do it with the bat. We fought well with the ball but it wasn't our day. We changed our mindset and in the first three (ODIs) matches of the series we played really good positive cricket and that is one thing we will take forward. End of September we have a series against ZIM and hopefully we will continue with the same brand of cricket.
Dhananjaya de Silva, Man of the Match: I was playing according to the situation. My team wanted me to hang in and I did that. It was a good pitch, a total of 130 would have been a good score. Fast bowlers were the easiest to bat on this wicket.
22:07 Local Time, 16:37 GMT, 22:07 IST: It was a narrow escape in the end for Sri Lanka. Their supporters must have had their hearts in the mouth in the second half of the run-chase. But Chandimal, in his comeback match brought his experience to the fore and guided his team to a memorable victory. The target was an ordinary one and Sri Lanka definitely made a mountain out of a molehill. Rabada was fiery in his 4-over spell and got two wickets in his first over but South Africa still needed more. Dhananjaya de Silva joined Chandimal and both portrayed good counter-attacking cricket. They were coasting at one point of time but Shamsi with Dala came into the attack and the duo were exceptional. With combined figures of 4-48, made it really interesting but South Africa seriously missed another quality spinner and once their spell was over, Chandimal and Udana took the hosts home. Time for the presentations..

Duminy to Udana, 1 run, full toss at the pads, Udana pushes it to long-on to bring Chandimal back on strike
Isuru Udana, right handed bat, comes to the crease
Duminy to Dananjaya, out Bowled!! Skipper gets the wicket on his very first ball. This one doesn't turn at all. Dananjaya made the mistake of playing for the turn, he attempts a drive, it breaches his defence and smashes the stumps. This is turning into a tasty encounter now! Dananjaya b Duminy 2(7)
Duminy to Dananjaya, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!
