It's Diwali/Deepavali in India today and we witnessed fireworks from the Aussie batters at the Adelaide Oval. It turned out to be a one-sided contest. Sri Lanka were beaten black and blue ... in all facets of the game. Can they recover from this loss? The action shifts to Brisbane next. Until the second T20I, hopefully more competitive, on Wednesday, it's goodbye from all of us down here.

David Warner, Player of the Match: It means a lot to contribute to the team and put us in great position. It was a good milestone, but got a great total on the board and it's always tough to chase a big one in Australia. Sometimes it'd be tough with no rotation of strike. One of us had to go hard against the new ball. Pradeep's skills are excellent, he's a world class Test player I reckon. You forget how busy the schedule actually is. You always get good support here in Australia. We thrive on people coming and watching us.

Aaron Finch: The way played Davey played was outstanding. Maxi, the way he went from ball one, was brilliant. To get the job done so well, really pleasing. It was about doing our things really well. We always want to start well, pretty clinical. (Room for improvement) Maybe a little bit of execution with the ball. All in all, it was an outstanding job - our quicks upfront and the spinners later.

Lasith Malinga: The bowlers didn't bowl in the right line and length. This is a good learning phase for our young bowlers. We know we are playing against a tough team, but this is an opportunity for the inexperienced players to get used to the conditions before the World Cup. We want to compete well in the next matches. They (batsmen) are playing on drop-in pitches for the first time and didn't know how the pitch will behave. This is not an excuse. We have to adjust in the next few games.

Pat Cummins: It's a nice feeling to get off to a win. Been off for the last few days, so glad to get out there and win. You are always trying to improve your game. It's mainly the death bowling, the slower ones and yorkers, we are always trying to practice. You need to try and learn those things. It's his (Warner's) birthday, the birthday boy - he has been hitting the ball beautifully in the last couple of weeks. He is in great form ahead of the summer.

Mitchell Starc: Lovely start to the summer. The boys were fantastic, Warner and Finchy were superb. The bowling too was clinical, a bit of work to do in the fielding, but a great performance all in all. We asked for early wickets in the powerplay, Cummins gave us that, and we continued taking wickets right through. Maxi has a great arm and unfortunately for him we expect it from him all the time and he keeps doing it for us.

17:23 Local Time, 06:53 GMT, 12:23 IST: Australia kickstart their home season with an emphatic win. Finch couldn't have asked for a better performance. Everything went right for the hosts, despite losing the toss. The troika of Finch-Warner-Maxwell powered Australia to a daunting score of 233, with Warner registering a maiden T20I ton on his birthday. Sri Lanka, already out-batted at the halfway stage, got off to an inauspicious start losing Kusal Mendis in the very first over. Things only got worse for the Islanders as the Aussies (pacers and spinners) kept exerting the pressure. None of the Lankan batsmen looked comfortable and they capitulated tamely. Hang around for the presentations..
