Another 'ah-not-again' and 'not-us-surely' kinda day for Sri Lanka and Lasith Malinga is not one to hold back any emotions. He's made his disappointment known pretty vivid during the presentations and high time Sri Lanka turn things around if they are to challenge sides in the T20 World Cup next year. We are talking about a side, who cleanswept a number-one ranked side (Pakistan) not too long ago. So, its surely not beyond them. Australia, on the other hand, continue to get better under the able leadership of Aaron Finch and Justin Langer. Their next target will be to make this series 3-0 and in a bid to achieve that, Australia will be traveling to MCG to host the third and final T20I of the series. Can Sri Lanka get off the mark? Join us on Friday (November 1) to find out. Until then, this is Raju Peethala logging off on behalf of my colleagues Akshay Maanay, Pradeep Krishnamurthy, and Sriram AS. Cheers!!
David Warner, Man of the Match: Credit goes to our bowlers, to restrict them to 117 was fantastic. There was more bounce and carry here and when the conditions are humid, it swings a bit as well. The boys hit their lengths right and we just tried to push them on the back foot and forced them to play cross-batted shots. A lot of hard work. Watching the ball and hitting the ball. I have been hitting the ball well in the nets. But at the end of the day, it's not what you do in the nets, its what you do in the middle that counts. It is fantastic (batting with Smith). What I do know is we are going to be doing a lot of running with the big boundaries. We try and stay nice and still and he just makes the game look easy, he (Smith) is a world class player and I enjoy batting with him.
Aaron Finch | Australia captain: Pretty clinical and it's a nice game. With how we started with the ball, it set the tone for the rest of the game. And then the way Steve and Dave went about things was world-class. I think at the end of the day, they (bowlers) know their roles pretty well and it makes my job very easy. Makes a difference having two of the best players in the world available and they are guns in any format. The amount of cricket they (Warner and Smith) play around the world and passing on that knowledge to the rest of the guys is unbelievable. We are focused on winning, we are fifth in the world which is a reflection on how we have played in the last couple of years. We need to get that going in the right direction but also at the same time maybe have a look at some different combinations.
Lasith Malinga | Sri Lanka captain: It's a tough side and I think with this kind of batting line-up our score wasn't enough. We didn't get the score we expected and the batsmen will have to be more responsible. Shot selection was not that great and we didn't get any partnerships in the middle overs. The only positive is preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup as we will be playing in similar conditions and we will have to test ourselves in such situations. We want to win the next game as this is a young side and it will give them confidence.
Steve Smith: We played well tonight. The bowlers did a terrific job; We bowled in the right areas and created chances and restricted them to 117 - which wasn't enough on this wicket. Lots of resting in the last three years, it's always hard playing all three formats. It's good to be back and with the T20 World Cup next year, I would like to be a part of it. It's nice and easy batting at the other end from Davy. He's doing a terrific job. Played beautifully the other day and backed it up tonight as well. It's about being adaptable and playing according to the situation. It's the skipper and coach's job - I bat where I am told.
21:06 Local Time, 11:06 GMT, 16:36 IST: A 'walk in the park' chase for Australia. Finch was the only batsman to be dismissed in the first over and that was all Sri Lanka could manage in the second innings. Smith walked in, played percentage shots and took the initial pressure off Warner and the rest was made to look like child's play. Credit to Australian bowlers for setting up this win and not to forget their improved fielding performace as well. Ashton Agar, who dropped a sitter in the last game, ran Kusal Mendis out which eventually led to a listless batting show from the visitors who found no road to recovery, ultimately bundling out in 19 overs.
Hasaranga to Warner, wide, ah! What a bummer. Hasaranga slips this down leg and that's it. Australia win by 9 wickets and seal the series 2-0 with a game to go.
Wanindu Hasaranga [1.0-0-17-0] is back into the attack

Sandakan to Warner, 1 run, full outside off
Sandakan to Warner, no run, gets an inside edge onto pad that rolls back to the bowler
Sandakan to Warner, no run, floated up just outside off, defended into the covers
Sandakan to Warner, FOUR, slapped hard! Jumps on the back foot and hits this flat past the non-striker, long-off tries his best to put in a dive to his left but ball wins the race...
Sandakan to Warner, no run, a schoolboy error from Lakshan Sandakan and Smith gets away with one. Warner smashed this straight back and it hit the stumps on the full before the bowler collected the deflection, Smith was backing up too far and he wasn't even in the frame for a good few seconds. Sandakan had enough time to collect the ball and dislodge one of the stumps out of the ground, but the ball wasn't in contact with the stumps which led the telly umpire to rule it in favour of the batsman
Uh-oh! What happened there? Is Smith run out? Nope.
Sandakan to Smith, 1 run, jumps down the pitch and flick-drives the fullish delivery wide of long-on

N Pradeep
3-0-26-0
Pradeep to Warner, no run, juicy back of a length slower delivery outside off, Warner doesn't force the punch, instead checks it to the man slotted at extra cover
Pradeep to Smith, 1 run, short and wide of off, Smith jumps on his back foot and slashes the cut square on the off-side
Pradeep to Smith, no run, full on off, driven to mid-off
Pradeep to Warner, leg byes, 1 run, mild appeal for leg before as Warner gets hit on the back pad. Pitched outside leg, end of story. Sri Lanka though are not giving up on their appeal. They want a review and the replays are conclusive enough to prove no bat on that. Snicko is quick to confirm the same. Ball-tracking in = pitching outside leg. Goodbye. Warner may have been surprised by the zip on this delivery and couldn't get his bat in line of it, beat the inside edge but no worries
Pradeep to Warner, no run, back of a length on middle and leg, Warner taps it under his nose towards point
