Bangladesh keep their home winning streak going and have now moved fourth in the Super League table with 40 points. On the other hand, Sri Lanka remain 12th with a score of -2 and will have some serious soul searching to do - the youthful resurgence didn't bear fruit today and they'll have to tweak a lot if they're to start winning games. On that note, it's goodbye from all of us here. Do join us for the second ODI on Tuesday. For now, cheers and bye..
Tamim Iqbal | Bangladesh captain: Happy with the way we fought. Mahmudullah and Mushy played brilliantly. Young Afif batted really well. Got to a decent total. Wasn't easy to bat. Pitch was two-paced. Losing is no fun. Finally we won. I think we lost 10 games across all formats. Winning is happiness. Boys are really happy. We hope we can put on a better show next time. As I said during the toss, it's passion for the country that everyone puts the hard work in. We know how passionate our crowds are. The guys watching on the telly. We put in the hard work for those guys.
Mushfiqur Rahim | Player of the Match: It wasn't an easy wicket to bat on, we lost a couple of early wickets but I thought Tamim batted really well. I took my time and Riyad too batted well. It was a good game, overall. I am not like Pollard or Russell to strike them big. I stuck to my strengths, milked the runs and had to keep one end safe, Riyad too chipped in. The finishing touches by Saifuddin and Afif was really good. It's not ideal conditions to play cricket, it's humid, so it's difficult to focus on each and every ball. Miraz was outstanding and was complemented well by Mustafizur and Saifuddin.
Kusal Perera, Sri Lanka captain - Losing isn't good, but we had a lot of positives. The bowlers bowled in the right directions, batting-wise Wanindu (Hasaranga) did a good job. They (Bangladesh) have a lot of seniors with plenty of experience, our bowlers weren't so, but restricting them to 257 was a good effort. On our batting, we need to start taking more responsibility. He (Hasaranga) is highly rated as a batsman in these conditions, after bowling 10 overs it was a good knock. Our batsmen must bat at least 30-35 overs, I was a bit disappointed with that. Thought we had a chance (when Hasaranga and Udana were batting), but they bowled well, we will look to come back and do well in the next game.
21:02 Local Time, 15:02 GMT, 20:32 IST: That's a comfortable victory for Bangladesh as they go 1-0 up in the 3-match ODI series. Hasaranga did give them a scare with his rollicking knock of 74, but lack of support from the other end was the reason why his efforts were in vain eventually. However, it was mainlydue to Mehidy Hasan's 4-wicket haul that Sri Lanka lost the plot before that onslaught by Hasaranga. Had it not been for the all-rounder's knock, the margin of victory might have been even bigger. So he did save them from some embarrassment. Earlier in the day, the fifties by Tamim, Mahmudullah and Rahim had propelled Bangladesh to a competitive total. But Mehidy Hasan was the reason behind Sri Lanka's choke during the run chase. And apart from Hasaranga, none of the Sri Lankan batsmen could add anything substantial as they fell short by 33 runs.
Mustafizur to Chameera, out Caught by Saifuddin!! Game. Set. Match! Chameera is the last man out as he completely mistimes this short ball and gets caught at backward point. Looked to go big against Mustafizur, but was not successful in his quest. Bangladesh win by 33 runs.. Chameera c Saifuddin b Mustafizur 5(12)
Mustafizur to Chameera, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
34 runs required off the final 2 overs. Just a matter of time!

Mustafizur to Sandakan, FOUR, Mustafizur bowls a freebie and Sandakan has put it away to the fence. Was a full toss as the batsman lofted it over mid-off and just managed to beat the infield. Wasn't middled, but had enough legs to race away to the boundary
Mustafizur to Chameera, 1 run, tad wide outside off and the batsman has driven this to wide mid-off
Mustafizur to Chameera, no run, and once again Chameera gets away with it. Swings across the line against this slower delivery, gets beaten as the ball sails over the stumps
Mustafizur to Chameera, no run, how has that missed the stumps? Was a yorker length deleivery outside off and Chameera swung across the line. Gets an underedge that rolls past the off stump and the batsman survives
Mustafizur to Sandakan, 1 run, on the batsman's pads and Sandakan has flicked it uppishly to deep square leg for one
