That's a wrap today. Sri Lanka have taken a 1-0 lead but Bangladesh will take plenty of positives with the way they chased. The second T20I is on Wednesday. Join us for all the action. Until next time, goodbye and stay safe..
Asalanka | Player of the Match: I am very pleased with my performance today. Everyone contributed and did well to get the win. It is short boundaries, lot of dew around and we have to give the bowlers a chance as well. Special mention to Kusal Mendis and Sadeera, it was their partnership that laid the platform and gave me the opportunity to play freely.
Najmul Shanto: It was a very good match. The boys showed a lot of character, Ali came into the team and showed a lot of intent. We started well with the ball but did not execute our plans later. Riyad's innings was amazing along with Jaker's, hope they contribute in the next match as well.
21:50 Local Time, 15:50 GMT, 21:20 IST: Phew! What a game. These two sides have produced some humdingers in the past and this one is right up there. Bangladesh once again so close yet so far. They fought hard though after losing three wickets in the powerplay. Mahmudullah came out with intent and started picking the boundaries at regular intervals, Jaker Ali played second fiddle to his senior partner and took over the mantle once Mahmudullah was dismissed. Sri Lanka's bowlers suffered due to dew and Ali took full advantage by smashing every loose delivery over the rope. With 12 needed off the final over, Ali backed himself but Shanaka was the one who held his nerve and got Sri Lanka over the line. Hang around for the presentations..

Shanaka to Taskin Ahmed, 1 run, it is Shanaka. Sri Lanka win by 3 runs. Very full delivery outside off, Taskin crouches low to swing it to the leg-side, ekes out an inside edge onto the pad and the ball rolls to cover
5 off 1. Taskin needs a six to win it, a four to take it to the Super Over. What can he get? Who will hold their nerve, Shanaka or Taskin?
Shanaka to Shoriful Islam, leg byes, 1 run, slower ball outside off, Shoriful shuffles across and swings to cow corner, misses and is struck on the back leg. The impact was outside off and hence the umpire was not interested. Sri Lanka have reviewed though. Nothing on UltraEdge but the impact was well outside off. Sri Lanka just chanced their luck and slowed the game down in the process
Shanaka to Shoriful Islam, FOUR, well, well! This ain't over. Shoriful says I am here. He moves around and stays deep in the crease, gets a full delivery outside off and he thumps it over extra cover, one bounce over the ropes. 6 off 2
Shoriful Islam, left handed bat, comes to the crease
Shanaka to Jaker Ali, out Caught by Asalanka!! Is that the game? The crowd are stunned. Ali has got them close but not over the line. A fine knock comes to an end. Cross-seam full delivery, it was in the slot and Ali will feel disappointed, he got under that and could not get the elevation to clear long-off, Asalanka runs in and takes a good catch diving forward. Jaker Ali c Asalanka b Shanaka 68(34) [4s-4 6s-6]
Shanaka to Jaker Ali, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
10 off 4.. Ali shakes his head as though saying he's got this. Fine leg, square leg, third man and backward point inside the ring along with cover
Shanaka to Taskin Ahmed, 1 run, very full delivery around off, Taskin squeezes the drive to mid-off and Ali is happy to get back on strike
Shanaka to Taskin Ahmed, wide, that's poor from Shanaka. He tries to keep it away from Taskin's range and sprays it outside off. 11 off 5
Taskin Ahmed, left handed bat, comes to the crease
Shanaka to Rishad Hossain, out Caught by Asalanka!! This is a good start. Not only Sri Lanka get the wicket but it keeps Ali off strike as well. Rishad comes down the track, takes it on the full and toe-ends the loft towards mid-off, Asalanka moves to his left and takes a good catch. Rishad Hossain c Asalanka b Shanaka 0(2)
Shanaka to Rishad Hossain, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Dasun Shanaka [2.0-0-29-0] is back into the attack
12 off the last over. But who will Asalanka turn to, Mathews or Shanaka? He's gone with Shanaka. Sri Lanka have been penalised for slow over rate and have to bring a fielder inside the ring. So five fielders inside the ring for the final over
