In a World Cup year, you want a well-oiled unit and I can't think beyond this English unit who outplayed the visitors despite missing out on a few of their regular T20 merchants. Morgan's ruthless and aggressive captaincy gives them an edge and his troops also answered his calls brilliantly. And imagine this power packed batting line-up coming at you in a T20 game! God save the bowlers. Talking about SL, they need prayers for them to come up with decent performances. A remarkable turnaround might still be around the corner but I can't fathom how! The players will have to raise their hands and be counted. The only solace might well be that the upcoming WC will be in Asia and their spinners will have their stocks rising. That is it from this game. Our team of AS Sriram, Raju Peethala, KAD and Naga had immense pleasure in bringing this to you. Good night!
The England players walk up towards the podium to collect their respective 'winning' medals. It's Captain Morgan's turn now, Bairstow does the medal presentation duties. Time to pose with the trophy and they are off.....
Eoin Morgan | England Captain: The biggest thing for me out of this series has been our bowling performance. The guys adapted to the conditions extremely well. To bowl first 16 overs of all seam today was outstanding. We can't fault the bowlers for anything, looking towards the T20 World Cup, we're looking to improve our Powerplay and Death-bowling. We have made some great strides and I am proud of the way the guys have performed. It's a great opportunity for the guys to stake their claim for the World Cup. We are aware of the capabilities of the players. Today was a great example. It was a hugely commendable opening partnership from Jonny and Dawid.
Kusal Perera | Sri Lanka skipper: We know it was always going to be tough but the batting has not been upto the mark. We are not used to the pace and bounce and the execution was not great and we need to have good back-up plans facing a team like this. We have to take responsibility and play to our strengths and that's the best way to approach these kinds of situations.
Sam Curran | Player of the Series: Very pleased with how the series went. I try and do my best with whatever role that's given to me. It swung pretty consistently throughout, it was quite strange but fast bowlers weren't complaining.
Dawid Malan | Player of the Match: Always nice to score runs and when you get a start like that, just keep it going. To get that partnership set us up nicely towards the end and we always thought 180 was a good score. Opening is the place, breaking into this team is tough enough and I'm just happy to fill in the spot. We know how we want to play as a team and it is something that we talk about and there's obviously criticism sometimes but Morgs (Morgan) backs us to play the way we do. When I do get criticism I do like to go out and show what I've got to people who got opinions. If people think I'm good enough (to play Test cricket) and be selected I'd be glad to do it.
17:55 Local Time, 16:55 GMT, 22:25 IST: Batting ticked, Bowling ticked, captaincy ticked. England have ticked all the boxes and have garnered a 3-0 win over the hapless Islanders. Once they had 180 on the board, Morgan and his boys just put their pedal on the accelerator. Morgan was so aggressive and ruthless in his defence that he bowled out his four seamers in the first 16 overs. The move helped him bargain 8 wickets and Sri Lanka were left reeling. This has been such a fine show from the Englishmen. The second T20I they had to work a little to clinch a win but this was totally one-sided. No doubts that the movement off the deck did help the English bowlers but their bowlers also used it to perfection. Hang on for the presentations.
Moeen Ali to Chameera, out Lbw!! England were made to wait a bit and that is perhaps the only period of waiting time that England have to bear in this game. England just kept the game moving in such an attacking manner. That was a flattish delivery, Chameera missed the tuck to hand England a whitewash. A 3-0 shellacking. Chameera lbw b Moeen Ali 1(4)
Moeen Ali to Chameera, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!
Given out LBW! That was a flatter delivery, Chameera missed the tuck and the ball thudded into the pads, UltraEdge suggests there is no bat. Looks adjacent as well. Might well be close. And even an umpire's call will clinch the game for England. They await the ball tracker. Looks out to me! Umpire's call it is and England win!
Moeen Ali to Sandakan, 1 run, spinning in, Sandakan plays it with the spin and gets it for a single to deep square
Moeen Ali to Sandakan, no run, spinning in, tucked away to the man at mid-wicket
Moeen Ali to Chameera, 1 run, tucks the ball away into the on-side for a single

Livingstone to Binura Fernando, out Bowled!! Goes for the slog sweep, misses and has been clean bowled. That was a little skiddier and Binura Fernando missed it. The ball went on to hit the top of the sticks. SL are nine down now. Binura Fernando b Livingstone 20(14) [4s-1 6s-1]
