Williamson receives the trophy and he is joined by his team-mates for the photographs. It's celebration time for the Kiwis. They end the year on a high - four series victories in 2018, capped off with the biggest Test win (in terms of runs). The series win in the UAE should have been the most satisfying one for KW and Co. The Sri Lankans, after the 0-3 loss at home to England, weren't expected to be competitive. However, the Islanders proved many wrong - thanks to that marathon Mendis-Mathews partnership which helped them salvage a draw in the first Test. They can take plenty of positives out of this series before heading to Australia (after the shorter formats). Well, it's time to bring down the curtains. Hope you enjoyed our coverage of this Boxing Day Test as much as we did bringing it you. By wishing you all a Happy New Year, it's goodbye from Abhinand Raghavendran, Kumar Abhisekh Das and our scorer Vinod.

Kane Williamson: I haven't spoken about it (four successive series victories), maybe a guy just told me now. It's always one game at a time. After the last game, which the guys played really well, we had to play a little bit better, which we were able to do. It was a fantastic team effort. There were some fantastic individual performances. A couple of brilliant contributions with the bat from the two local boys. They made it really count and put us in a really strong position. Two brilliant team contributions that were required. It's great to have achieved the win today. After first session yesterday, there were some thoughts of deja vu. A real shame for Angelo to suffer that hamstring injury, which came out in our favour. We thought there might be some similarities. Once again, the guys kept fighting all day and provided opportunities. We have played a number of series at home, guys are familiar with these conditions and know what to expect. Bigger work load for the seamers - that's the nature and beauty of international cricket. Four series wins - it is a proud achievement

Dinesh Chandimal: Disappointing with the way we batted in the first innings in both matches. We'll have to learn to get good starts, specially in the first innings. After winning the toss here, they bowled really well. Suranga gave a really good start for us. We just have to improve. We want to execute our plans. We have Australia and South Africa coming up. If we can compete with them and win, it'll be good for our confidence. He's (Angelo Mathews) an outstanding player - an experienced player. He has shown lot of character after his injury. The youngsters have a lot to learn from him. Unfortunately, he got injured yesterday.

Tim Southee, Man of the Match: It's nice every time you win a Test match, great feeling. All the tail-enders work hard with the bat. It was important to hang out with BJ. Body feels good, couple of days off . It's great to be part of another series win. Nice to see the red ball swing. A number of guys stepping up. Different guys tend to step up and that's a good sign.

11:14 Local Time, 22:14 GMT, 03:44 IST: It took just 14 deliveries to wrap up this Test on the final day. Wagner took a wicket with his normal bouncer, and Boult did what he does usually. Two inswingers and they were too tough to handle for Sri Lanka's tail. The series is done, NZ win it 1-0. At 64/6, the hosts were in a precarious situation on day one but Southee and Watling waded them out of trouble. On the second day, it was Boult's six-fer that changed the complexion of the game. The visitors never recovered from there. Following tons from Latham and Henry Nicholls, the Lankans were asked to chase down an improbable target. Chandimal and Mendis tried their best, but it was always going to be tough to bat out two days.

Boult to Chameera, out Lbw!! Chameera has been given out lbw by umpire Richard Illingworth. And, he reviews it immediately. Legal delivery. No bat involved. The impact is on leg. Over to HawkEye. Three reds! It was an inswinger from a good length and Chameera played all around it. Got pinned on the front pad around the knee-roll. Mathews won't come out to bat. New Zealand win by 423 runs and take the series. Chameera lbw b Boult 3(8)

Wagner to Dilruwan Perera, out Caught by Williamson!! Eight down! The New Zealand players are all smiles. Wagner's short ball does the trick. Perera is late on the pull off the back foot and he could only top-edge it. The New Zealand captain runs back from square leg to gobble it up with ease.
