As we get all set to venture into the new 'Don', some things are hard to change. South Africa 'Trumping' Sri Lanka on this tour seems to be one of them. That would be all from our coverage of this rain hit game, that in the end turned out to be an absolute thriller. Thank you for staying on ever so patiently through the delay. This is Vineet Anantharaman signing off on behalf of Raju Peethala and Venkatesh. Ta ta!!

Ngidi: It is a dream debut. Couldn't have asked for anything more. It is all happening very fast for me, just enjoying the process. Hopefully there would be a lot more. I was less nervous that I would have usually been thanks to my home ground and the crowd. I was sticking to the basics, bowling the back of a length and it worked for me today.

Lungisani Ngidi is the Man of the Match for his spell of 2-0-12-2 to turn the game on its head.

Behardien: Very happy with the performance tonight. Proud moments for the debutants and their families. Ngidi bowled magnificently tonight and with that performance put his hand up. With Miller, we always think of ways of getting him up the order. Sri Lanka did not have the greatest of Test series and we do not want to take the foot off the pump with our T20 side. A big thank you to the crowd as well for staying on and they gave us that extra edge.

Angelo Mathews: It is disappointing to end up on the losing end once again. The bowlers did well to keep them to 127. We needed a good start and we got one but in the middle overs the hiccup cost us. We had to go from the first ball, we did not have the luxury to sit back but we just couldn't do it. We looked at the videos of the new South African players and did not have much of an idea about them but that's not an excuse.

Phew. Quite a humdinger. Alas, like this entire tour, it just fell all apart at the end in a fashion ever so ugly for the Lankans. They started off brilliantly with the 'smack-slogging' stand between Dickwella and de Silva providing them with the perfect launching pad to finish off. And with 40 needed off the final three ivers, it seemed all the more possible. But, nobody quite expected a debutant in the form of Ngidi to steam in and close off the oxygen ventilator with a four-run, two wicket over. To be fair, the difference was the Miller-Farhan stand that stole at least 20 extra runs at the end to take the total beyond the reack of the visitors.

9.6

Phehlukwayo to Asela Gunaratne, 1 run, and he closes it off perfectly. Another blockholer. Even the best in the world couldn't have managed anything with that apart from digging it out with a jam. South Africa won by 19 runs

9.5

Phehlukwayo to Asela Gunaratne, no run, a juicy full toss. In no way is he under it. Only manages to slap it to the man at sweeper. the second dot of the over

9.4

Phehlukwayo to Chandimal, 1 run, a ferocious drive through sweeper

9.3

4

Phehlukwayo to Chandimal, FOUR, it's only a boundary. Uses the length and the width outside off to stab it away over point. This won't do it

9.2

Phehlukwayo to Chandimal, no run, the loopy bumper. Ohh perfectly disguised. Nothing Chandimal can do about it, reads the seam up expecting it to come in quicker. Just that there is absolutely nothing on this one. Has to settle for an escort into the keeper's gloves. Not a chance now, unless we have something maniac

9.1

Phehlukwayo to Asela Gunaratne, 1 run, excellent bowling. Keeps following him with the yorker seeing him make room to go through to the shorter boundary in the off-side. Can only manage to dig it out

Andile Phehlukwayo [1.0-0-16-0] is back into the attack

Sri Lanka need 27 runs in 6 balls. Phehlukwayo to bowl. A boundary start is a must now for the Lankans

Parnell

2-0-23-1

8.6

Parnell to Asela Gunaratne, 1 run, drilled down to long-on. Minus the timing or the connection

8.5

6

Parnell to Asela Gunaratne, SIX, Gunaratne isn't giving up. And this maximum would certainly help. Keeps their hopes alive with one well over the square leg fence. Pounces on the sitting up length as he unleashes the mighty bat swing to flog it into the night sky

8.4

Parnell to Chandimal, 1 run, right in the blockhole. A perfect follow up delivery. Jammed out to cover

8.3

Parnell to Chandimal, no run, bangs it in. Very well directed. Too good for Chandimal, who just cannot get the bat up in time for his attempted hook

8.2

Parnell to Asela Gunaratne, 1 run, a climber. Off a length. Just about gets his bat up in time to angle-bat it out in front of square on the on-side

Asela Gunaratne, right handed bat, comes to the crease
