That is all we have from this thrilling encounter. Watch out for Lungi Ngidi. He's a Kagiso Rabada in the making. Him and Sandakan were the stars today. Wasn't a typical exhibition of T20 cricket, but sometimes the other aspect of the game will have its say. Like today. Join us for the third and final T20I of the series on Wednesday, the 25th of January. Till then, keep rocking. Cheerio!!

Mathews: Looks like I'll be out for a couple of weeks. Looks really bad at the moment (Has injured his ankle. REF: 18.5). We were pretty out and done until this game, but all the slow bowlers bowled really well. The fast bowlers were brilliant too. Kind of sub continet wicket and our bowlers did a great job for us. I had to bat till the end and I had to stay till the end. [And Shaun Pollock now reminds him that he is also the deserved recepient of the Man of the Match award.] Sandakan deserves this award more than me. It was just run-a-ball when I was with Chandi, so we just talked about staying there and bat till the end. I had to hit the long ball as I couldn't run. Thankfully I could do it.

FB aka Fudgy: The boys really fought well. The wicket was a bit slow, but we fought till the end. We never assessed the wicket upfront. We lost too many wickets early on and couldn't launch towards the end. Should have adapted a lot more quicker. I said in the last game a superstar is born (Speaking of Lungi Ngidi). He is a great lad. Capetown is a final for us. We want to come prepared on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka. This team just continues to amaze me. After having South Africa on the mat, they could have easily cruised through. But, but they didn't choose the easy way. Took the toughest of routes to complete the victory and had it not been for Mathews' tenacity, Sri Lanka would have yet again found themselves on the receiving end. South Africa and FB will feel, they'd missed a trick by not offering Ngidi a fourth successive over. He was the only standout bowler, accounting for a top-order collapse. The scorecard might tell you that Sri Lanka won by 3 wickets, but in fairness, they won by 3 non-hara-kiri moments. Courtesy the most experienced man on the ground today, Angelo Mathews...

Smuts to Mathews, SIX. And he finishes it off with flair. Well he might be smiling now, but I'm sure he is feeling the pain inside. Sri Lanka win and square the series 1-1 with a game to go. Mathews raced down the pitch and the connection was sweet, lofted over long-on and into the crowd

19.3

Smuts to Mathews, no run, smacked away to long-on, not off the middle, Mathews doesn't want a single. He might want to finish it off with another biggie

Smuts to Mathews, SIX, what a blow. Just what Sri Lanka needed. Angelo Mathews is a tough lad, just a little chip down the ground and he uses all his might to dispatch Smuts over long-on. The dressing room is all smiles now

19.1

Smuts to Mathews, no run, dropped by Kuhn! Mathews went for the slog across the line, off the thick inside half and what an attempt from deep mid-wicket, he runs forward a long way and went for the catch, just hits his palms and slipped off while tumbling onto the ground. Kulasekara ran off, but is sent back. Mathews is not giving the strike away

7 from the last 6 balls and FB has gone for spin

Parnell to Mathews, leg byes, 1 run, Mathews hobbles to the other end. His partner was through and was nearly past him at the striker's end, Mathews hobbling and wobbling after he missed a leg-stump delivery. Off the thigh pad towards square leg. He wanted to keep strike at any cost

18.5

Parnell to Kulasekara, leg byes, 1 run, looks like Mathews has done his hamstring. Oh Sri Lanka. The dressing room looks worried. Clutches his hammy and grimaces in pain as the physio tends to him. Kulasekara went for a cross bat slog and is deceived by the lack of pace, the ball ricochets off the thigh pad towards backward point. Mathews was adamant on the single, Kulasekara had to respond. Had to. Mathews was forced to pull off a desperate dive in trying to beat the direct hit from the backward point fielder, while trying to do so his foot got stuck and fell sideways onto the ground. Hang on! It might not actually be his hammy, it was his ankle, a little twist around the ankle to be precise. He wants to carry on...

Nuwan Kulasekara, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Parnell to de Silva, out Caught by Behardien!! Oh no! Will he be gutsy enough to face his skipper in the dressing room after the game? Just ridiculous. Gets nervous and attempts a release shot, a big mow across the line against a slower back of a length delivery. Too early on the shot and hit right at the bottom of the bat, too easy for FB at wide mid-on. de Silva c Behardien b Parnell 3(6)

Parnell to de Silva, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Mathews calls de Silva for a brief chat. May be asking him to stay calm and not attempt any rash shot

18.3

Parnell to de Silva, no run, flicks but can't get it past mid-on

18.2

Parnell to de Silva, 2 runs, opens the face of the blade and steers it wide of third man, a risky second attempted, but they make it look easy in the end

18.1

Parnell to Mathews, 1 run, full ball zooming in from round the wicket, driven off the toe-end towards long-off

12 from 12. Test of nerves

17.6

Smuts to Mathews, 1 run, straightens after pitching, Mathews bunts it down to long-on, retains strike which is the most important thing at the moment
