Sri Lanka will need to pull out a special performance at Johannesburg, the Pink ODI, if they are to stay alive here. They've been royally thumped in both ODIs so far. And the conditions will only get tougher. Hope you enjoyed our coverage today. This is Sagar Chawla signing off on behalf of Raju Peethala, Krishna and our scorer Naga. Good night!

Faf: Today was nice. The new ball was pretty straightforward, wasn't too much happening. But it slowed down later. You put pressure on the opposition by finding the boundary here and there. Obviously makes it easier when Miller hits sixes into the third and fourth tier. Makes my job easier. To be honest, my legs were a bit tired which is why I couldn't jump as I normally do. Saved my legs there.

Faf du Plessis is Man of the Match

AB de Villiers: I thought it was a fantastic performance by the batters. Very happy for Faf and Miller. Very tough to single out the better knock. We've got a lot of class in the bowling department. Picked up wickets at some important times. Got to take your opportunities. Missed out on a few opportunities in the last T20I and that cost us. The wicket played very well at the end of the day. A little bit drier than we're used to. Overall, great team performance. That's close to as good as we can bat. Four down, to come back and score 300 was a 10/10 batting performance. We leaked a few too many boundaries in the first 10 overs. We normally play well there (Johannesburg) but it's a new ODI. Have to work hard in the nets. I know the crowd will turn out well.

Tharanga: They were 100/4. After that Faf and Miller had very good partnership. That happens in the game so we have to accept it (dropped catch of Faf). Pitch was really good for batting. We had plenty of 20s and 30s, but no one carried on. I'm all right.

The match was shaped in the first innings when Faf and Miller led a superb recovery through their 117-run stand, both batsmen going on to score centuries. South Africa had a strong finish which powered them over 300. Given how Sri Lanka's batting had gone on the tour, it would have taken some getting.

20:43 Local Time, 18:43 GMT, 00:13 IST: 308 was always going to be a difficult target on a pitch where the ball was stopping and holding. But it was made almost improbable with the way South Africa fielded. The hosts were on fire in the field. A couple of brilliant catches, a swift stumping, a run out through a direct hit. They were relentless. Sri Lanka had a promising start but it didn't take long for them to lose their way from 45/1 to 75/4. Chandimal and Gunaratne raised hopes of some sort of recovery but Gunaratne's run out put paid to that. Chandimal's wicket soon afterwards snuffed out any last hope that Sri Lanka had and the game was reduced to a formality around the 25-over mark.

20:38 Local Time, 18:38 GMT, 00:08 IST: A clinical performance from South Africa to take a 2-0 lead in the series. They have also won 11 ODIs in a row at home now.

Tahir to Sandakan, out Lbw!! This one's closer. It's gone. The finger went up in a flash. Slid through from the front of the hand, skids on, clips the flap of the back pad before going on to connect with Sandakan's attempted cut. He had no room there. Still decides to review though. That's crashing into middle stump, around six inches below the bails. Crushing win for South Africa. Sandakan lbw b Tahir 0(4)

Tahir to Sandakan, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!

Tahir to Sandakan, no run, sharp googly which hits the pad of the No. 11. In years gone by, many a tailender has been the victim of a poor decision just because of their position in the batting order. But the game has changed. Not out. Oh well, South Africa have decided to review. There was sharp turn on the ball, seemed to be taking it well down leg. No bat, not that I can see. Ball-tracking coming up... It's missing leg and bouncing over too

37.3

Tahir to Lakmal, 1 run, cut away to point, a fumble from du Plessis allows the single

37.2

Tahir to Lakmal, no run, slower through the air, turning from a length on middle, Lakmal defends forward

37.1

Tahir to Lakmal, no run, turning away from a shortish length outside off, Lakmal flat-bats to mid-off

Tahir to Lakmal, wide, slid down the leg-side, Lakmal fails to tickle it away

Rabada to Kulasekara, out Caught by du Plessis!! Another catch for Faf du Plessis, his third of the night. A full ball speared in on leg, Kulasekara swings across the line and skews it off the inside half to the right of Faf at square leg. Got it right at the toe-end actually. All it takes is a gentle dive from Faf. Grabs it with both hands. South Africa one wicket away from wrapping it up. Kulasekara c du Plessis b Rabada 12(20) [4s-1]
