Kirsty Coventry, the Minister of Sport Zimbabwe, hands over the trophy to Karunaratne. The Sri Lankan boys are quick to join their skipper for a customary photograph session. Terrific comeback from the home team after a heart-wrenching loss in the first game, only if they had some support from the weather. Only if. All in all, its been a hard-fought Test series and Sri Lanka managed to clinch it 1-0. That, ladies and gents, is a wrap of this Test match and Sri Lanka's tour of Zimbabwe. Until next time, cheers and goodbye!!
Dimuth karunaratne, Sri Lanka skipper: Zimbabwe have dominated the last four days and after losing a game its not easy to comeback and Zimbabwe did really well. Its not easy to get runs on this wicket and Kusal and Oshada have done well to see out the tough phase. As a team, we are happy with the progress in the last few months and its been a good series.
Angelo Mathews, Player of the Series: Nice to contribute with the bat and I would like to thank my team mates and support staff. Credit to Zimbabwe, they bowled well in the first innings and put us under a lot of pressure. Previous Test, it was a nice batting track and this was much slower. Kusal Mendis batted really well and looking forward to the next series.
Sikandar Raza, Player of the Match: All the emotions I had, I just wanted to channel it in the right way. I made a commitment to myself to try and work hard every day and put things in the right direction. I try and compliment my bowling with the bat and all the hours of training before the Test match made bowling those 80 overs feel very easy. Couldn't get the result we wanted, but did well in all departments.
Sean Williams, Zimbabwe skipper: Unfortunately couldn't get the job done, but well done to Raza. He bowled exceptionally well and gave us a chance in this game. Lot of things need to be addressed and it's hard when you fight five days and still not able to get the result. Overall, its been a pleasing performance from the boys.
16:18 local: The players shake hands and that's that. It's a draw and Sri Lanka have won the series 1-0. Only three wickets to show for Zimbabwe despite giving it all on the final day of the Test match and in hindsight, they might ponder over the precious time that's lost due to bad weather. A near two-session phase was wiped out across all five days and that might have just defied Zimbabwe a chance to level the series. Kusal Mendis stole the limelight today for his stubborn knock with the bat, bringing up his 7th Test ton while at it. The home team did everything they could, including the one-last-try with the new ball, but there just wasn't enough spice on the wicket to create any tremors. Stick around for the presentations...
