A sorry tour for West Indies, but they can head back with a shining light that appears to glow bright for a good few years, and you don't say that too often about this team in the longest format, mind. Not quite 'remember the name,' but it's a name that will keep you glued, if you are a fan of Test cricket. Tagenarine Chanderpaul. You could sense an air of satisfaction and joy when skipper Brathwaite was pouring plaudits on him during the presentations. As for Australia, they continue to bully the visiting teams, as they so often do. Their next assignment, however, isn't gonna be as straightforward. South Africa hold a very good Test record in Australia and the hosts will be aware of that. The first Test starts next Saturday at 'The Gabba'. Do remember to join us for that. A thumping high five for all the lovely comments and your company throughout the series. Until next time, cheers and goodbye from Raju Peethala, Nikhil Jadhav and our scoring expert, Venky.

Steve Smith is now joined by his team mates as they pose for the photographs, with the trophy of course. The ever-cheeky Marnus tries to strangle his mentor and best friend Smith with the celebratory ribbon. Smith is quick to shove that off. Proper scenes these!!

Steve Smith | Australian skipper: Nice toss to win, boys batted particularly well the first day. The partnership between Marnus and Travis set the game up for us. It's been a good week. Everyone is contributing when they need to and we got a lot of trust in each other and sets us up really nicely. He (Marnus) is batting really well and very adaptable to whichever situation in that time and no reason why he can't continue that form further. Last night he (Boland) was spectacular, Ness has been excellent today and Starc keeps doing what he does best for a number of years now. Pretty incredible to have 4 guys (Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood, Lyon) played with each other for such a long time now, great to see them doing so well and exciting time for us. They (South Africa) present a good challenge for us and particularly their fast bowling stock, we got to be at our best to beat them.

Kraigg Brathwaite | West Indies skipper: Disappointing for sure. First game we showed some fight, obviously lost guys due to injury. Good test for us and hopefully we will continue to work. Against a world class attack in the first game, we showed that we can spend time and bat for longer periods. Very unfortunate about the experience we lost due to injuries, but we can learn a lot from Australia about how to go about things. He (Chanderpaul) has been doing it for the last couple of years now and has a great future ahead of him for the West Indies. It's been amazing, the fans want to see the West Indies do well. They make the atmosphere lovely.

Marnus Labuschagne | Player of the Series: Nice to be going through a patch where you're scoring runs consistently and your team winning consistently. You sit back at the end of the career and try to sink in (talking about the dream run of form). At the moment, you gotta be thinking about the next match and series, feels really good. Nice coming on the back of some success here. You trust your game playing against the pink ball, takes a little longer to get used to it as compared to the red ball. The pink ball keeps moving consistently. It just hasn't sunk in yet. We got a massive series coming up against South Africa, hopefully the form can continue. It's gonna be a nice fiery contest with both pace attacks coming against each other.

Travis Head | Player of the Match: I will take it (175) especially after last week (missing out on 100). Amazing week, nice to have everyone here. I just let him (Marnus) do his thing and he let me do my thing. Batting with good batters helps, credit goes to the guys above me. The coaching staff and everyone from the support staff has been nice.

Mitchell Starc: That's a pretty nice start to the summer, we get an extra day or two, that would be handy. A lot of positives for us in the last couple of weeks, some great individual performances and also a great team performance. They made me do all the hard work (absence of Cummins and Hazlewood). According to reports, Cummins will be back next week probably. We'll see how Josh (Hazlewood) is going. We got great depth (in our bowling) when we have guys like Scott Boland and Neser on the bench. The batters were giving him (Boland) a hard time as he did not get wickets in the first innings but he was at his consistent best in the second innings, it was MCG all over again. Welcomed him (Head) to the 99-club last week. Marnus scored 500 runs in two Tests, that's something special. That set up the series for us.

16:02 Local Time, 05:32 GMT, 11:02 IST: It was always going to be about how long rather than how far. Once West Indies lost their top 4 in the last session yesterday, the only glimmer of hope was the defiance of Thomas and Holder who displayed dogged determination to play the long haul. Mitch Starc didn't quite have the rhythm he would usually have until the start of day 4, but he was right on the money from the onset today. Picked up both the overnight batters in the space of 4 overs and then a bit of Carey magic did the job for Australia. The visitors showed great fight with the bat at Perth, but, bar Chanderpaul, they looked like a shadow of themselves in Adelaide. Both innings combined, their batters lasted for just 110 overs as opposed to the near 210-over (both innings combined) gritty batting effort in the first Test. Presentations imminent, stick around...

Neser to Mindley, out Caught by Carey!! One handed take from Carey who has been the star of the morning today. Australia wrap things up in 90 minutes on day 4 and seal the series 2-0. They win by a masssive 419 run margin. This is also the biggest win (in terms of runs) for Australia against West Indies in Test cricket. The gentle good length teaser in the outside off channel, Mindley has a poke and sends a thick outside edge to the right of Carey who dives to complete the formalities. Carey had a significant say in three of the last 4 dismissals and he has been mobbed by his mates in absolute joy. Mindley c Carey b Neser 0(5)

Lyon to Alzarri Joseph, out Bowled!! Nathan Lyon and the Adelaide Oval. The love affair keeps getting bettter - He picks up his 450th wicket in Test match cricket. The nice and full teasing off-break - spun in from outside off and smashed the middle of middle. Alzarri Joseph was down the track in a flash looking to tonk it down the ground, but wasn't anywhere near the pitch of the delivery. Missed it by a country mile and gets beaten all ends up on the inside edge. Alzarri Joseph b Lyon 3(4)
