That's curtains on the longest English summer. Ever. It comes with England executing another whitewash over the Windies. Tougher challenges await, both on the field and in the courts of law. But it's been a pleasure bringing you this summer. I am Vineet Anantharaman bidding goodbye along with Sagar Chawla and Shashikant Singh. Ta ta!!
So Morgan has the trophy, yet another in his bilateral kitty. He's made it a habit of lifting these up at home. And out come the champagnes, spraying it all over. Poor Moeen Ali, he's trying his best to avoid the droplets, standing a decent dozen yards away.
Eoin Morgan: Extremely proud. It has been an extremely long summer starting off with the Champions Trophy, where we had only one bad game. We've been convincing in every aspect of the game. The guys have gone on, not in a selfish way but have played for the team by getting big individual scores. Roy coming in for two games and has performed brilliantly in the limited chances he's got. Moeen Ali as well was brilliant. Fielding is certainly an area we need to work on. Our attitude came out when we came out strong to win this contest. One aspect we need to bring into our game, leading into the World Cup, is improving our middle overs bowling. We cannot keep relying only on the spinners. It is great to see that the guys who are playing are in terrific form and hopefully they can carry it forward to the Ashes.
Jason Mohammed: I thought we went wrong in the bowling department. We couldn't quite get scoring in the middle stages as well. The bowlers we have are wicket takers but it just wasn't happening on this tour. The guys batted well but we didn't bowl in the areas we wanted to consistently. In the middle part there are a lot of dot balls, we need to work on it, try and rotate strike before looking for finish off well. With some of the senior guys back, hopefully we can get the combinations right for the qualifiers.
Moeen Ali, Player of the Series: I just prefer to ride my wave of luck and work as hard as I can. Luckily it has paid off. I always look for the short boundary and look to make the biggest impact I can at that time. We were told that the rain was coming in 25 minutes at The Oval and Jos (Buttler) and me pushed the button. Fortunately we did not lose a wicket. Very pleased that we've been able to pull it off. I can't wait for Australia, I need to put in a bit of work and look to pull it off.
Jonny Bairstow, Player of the Match (now that's a surprise ;)): I am pretty pleased, it is nice to finish a long summer with some runs. The first hundred was special, given that I had to wait so long for it. If selection doesn't necessarily go your way you have to bide your time and take it when it comes. Hopefully I've done the team proud. The way the others in the side go about it is the reason why we are so successful. Rest before Australia now, and then a bit of gym to get back to fitness.
Yokshire takes over the Rose Bowl. You'd imagine when a team is chasing 289 they'd lose at least a couple of wickets. England do not. Jonny Bairstow, drafted back does what he always was scheduled to. Smashes yet another century to see his side home - and in the process snatches the highest ODI score by an Englishman against the Windies. To be fair the Windies never turned up with the ball. Too many easy deliveries, too many fumbles in the field..not that England needed any of them. They were on a carnage. Roy once again showed that his finding form last game was no aberration. And Root showed, err, what we already know. Wait on, the presentations coming your way.

Samuels
4-0-41-0
Samuels to Root, SIX, done with a tonking. A juicy slot flat one and Root is down on a knee, wielding the axe, and smashing it straight into the sightscreen. 4-0, this one by nine wickets
Samuels to Bairstow, 1 run, and they're happy doing it in singles. Long-on again. Scores level
Samuels to Root, 1 run, opens up the bat on the punch to go square with the backing away
Samuels to Bairstow, 1 run, a quiet shuffle, and a quiet knock to long-on
Samuels to Bairstow, FOUR, right forward, to the pitch of it and goes through the line. With a powering cover drill. So, England one shot away
Samuels to Bairstow, no run, lets the spin get big, and works it to find mid-wicket
Marlon Samuels [3.0-0-28-0] is back into the attack

A Nurse
8-0-56-0
Nurse to Bairstow, 1 run, on the pads with the spin. Mid-wicket again, only wide of him to keep the strike
Nurse to Bairstow, no run, a tad straighter. Turned to mid-wicket with the spin
Nurse to Bairstow, FOUR, covers now. He done every possible fielding position and he's doing them again. Covers this time. Gets an overcooked toss up, Bairstow sinks to muscle the drive through extra cover
Nurse to Bairstow, 2 runs, a powering bottom handed club through mid-wicket. More of the slipping from the fielders..allows the second
Nurse to Bairstow, FOUR, he's toying around. Stays away from the line and drills it straight down. He's doing it for fun here
Nurse to Root, 1 run, on the reverse. Quite off the sticker as he finds short third man
