So, a great day for Bangladesh cricket, their first ever ODI mult-nation trophy and it couldn't have come at a better time with the World Cup just over 10 days away. For the West Indies, they can take solace from the fact that a lot of this squad aren't actually part of their WC squad. So, the change of personnel should give them a boost with the big players returning. Seems like a game that lasted for ages with all those delays but we're finally done. Until next time, it's good bye from us!
Shai Hope, Man of the Series for his tremendous performance in the series.
Mosaddek Hossain, Man of the Match for his exceptional 24-ball 52.
19:42 Local Time: Deserving winners, Bangladesh! Have to give it to them. Didn't lose a single game in the lead-up to the final and also won this truncated ODI quite comfortably. Chasing 210 wasn't going to be easy but on a good pitch with the short boundaries, Bangladesh weren't out of it at all. Sarkar gave them the impetus at the top of the innings while Rahim provided the tempo during the middle overs. However, with a flurry of wickets, West Indies threatened to turn the tide and it wasn't impossible with Bangladesh's history of choking in finals. Mosaddek though wasn't going to let history repeat, he wanted to rewrite it. In a brilliant display of ball-striking, his blistering half-century eventually made a mockery of the run chase. West Indies were shoddy with the ball and the fielding was worse. They did get the benefit of the DLS adjustment in their total but couldn't make it count.
