22:46 Local Time, 22:46 IST: That's that then. A very long, almost 2-month tour of India comes to an end for the Windies. And they'll be thoroughly homesick by now - particularly Carlos Brathwaite who mentioned Sunday morning church multiple times today. Unfortunately, the churchgoers in the Caribbean won't be returning to the best news, but the Windies have certainly shown a lot of heart and a rather obstinate hunger for a win in the final moments of this tour rather than another manifestation of a meek surrender. 2-0 in the Tests, 3-1 in the ODIs, and 3-0 in the T20Is, all won by India. A clinical win for India in the larger scheme of things, but certainly a narrow and fortuitous one tonight. That's it from Chennai then, as I, Rishi Roy, sign off in a hurry to hit the bed to wake up in time for the captivating Ranji Trophy encounter tomorrow, along with the troika of Varun Dixit, Akshay Maanay, and Siva. Best catch up on some sleep now. Good night. *Extended yawns*
Rohit Sharma, India captain: Games like these happen a lot. Especially in the IPL, these have happened a lot. We wanted to be ruthless and not take a backseat. This kind of performance gives a lot of confidence. We didn't want to be complacent and wanted to come out and win. As a team there is always scope for improvement. We need to improve on handling pressure situations while bowling. It is important to stick to your strengths, and a lot of these guys have not played much for India so a home series like this was the perfect opportunity to show their talent. I was also very impressed with the fielding efforts in this tournament by the team.
Kuldeep Yadav, Man of the series: Proxy collection by Yuzi Chahal, his wristspin mirror-image...
Shikhar, Man of the Match: It was a good match. We lost two early wickets, and I knew I had to stay at the crease. Rishabh played well, tremendous partnership between us. He batted really well. I knew he was going after the bowlers so I took a backseat and then I joined the party after he hit a few huge sixes. It doesn't matter to me what people say, and I just back myself and back my game.
Carlos Brathwaite, Windies captain: It would have been (great end to the series). We had a chat before the game and talked about every game being important. We wanted to put a smile on the fans' face but didn't get the result we would have liked. I will take the effort and belief, especially taking it to the last ball after Shikhar and Rishabh's partnership. We saw a few balls grip but on reflection we did not switch quickly enough. (On Pooran's talent) There are a few here; Shai, Hetmyer and Pooran. But it is important to get the best out of everyone and create a unit that can challenge for the T20 World Cup in Australia.

Harsha Bhogle: Well, India have managed to take it to the last ball..... Didn't seem likely!
Rishabh Pant: Actually I am feeling lucky today because after a long time I got runs in T20s for India, specially in a condition like this where I had to score runs. Me and Shikhi bhai were talking it would be difficult for the new batsman to come and score, but unfortunately we got out. I had decided to play according to the situation. I am happy to contribute to the winning cause.
22:31 Local Time, 22:31 IST: What a game we've witnessed today! India had it in their grasp, but the thrill-seeking middle-order that represents a billion has managed to take it to the last ball for the second time in a couple of months. A fantastic batting effort by the Windies, capped off by some excellent hitting at the death, particularly by Pooran, exposing an Achilles' heel in India's Bumrah-less bowling line-up. The early wicket of Rohit Sharma handed Windies the initiative early, but a risky-but-effective counterattacking innings by Pant and a composed and aggressive knock by Dhawan made sure India were always going to cross the line - until the last 2 overs. Pant, after a stunning knock, tried a silly shot and lost his middle-stump and Keemo Paul bowled a fantastic penultimate over and Dhawan, after a stupendous innings, lost his wicket in a tight, alarming final over that nearly wiped the smiles off Indian faces. It was all possible until the final ball, when a misfield by the bowler cost them the match. A fantastic nail-biter to cap off a rather one-sided tour...
Agony for the Windies: Fabian Allen and the man at midwicket are mortified - they lie on the ground hoping that a few spontaneous tectonic movements swallow them up into the earth's core. Manish Pandey takes off his helmet and buries his face, almost embarrassed that the game went so deep. Sheer luck for India, and the fielders console young Fabian Allen, who looks just short of tears at the moment. A fantastic effort by him in the final over, and hopefully a long career ahead of him. One may have talent in abundance, but the gift of calm and composure is a whole other domain - a collective effect of scars utilised productively over the years. He's got a lifetime ahead to learn that. For now, he can hold his head high and enter the dressing room as a proud man. India - well, they must consider themselves lucky.

Fabian Allen to Manish Pandey, 1 run, India manage to win! What a final over by Fabian Allen. One has to feel for him! A fired-in flat ball on leg-stump, Manish Pandey just pushes it back to the bowler's right and takes off for a single. He doesn't collect cleanly and deflects it towards midwicket - and by the time they collect it, it's too late. India win by 6 wickets but it was closer than it sounds!
Dinesh Karthik, right handed bat, comes to the crease
Okay, I can't believe this is happening. Manish on strike. Two results possible. The Windies end of the scoreline is likely to remain zero unless there is a super-over after a tie. 1 to win off 1. Here we go!
Fabian Allen to Dhawan, out Caught by Pollard! Are you kidding me? What have you done SD? Wide-ish outside off, Dhawan gets low and clubs it straight down the throat of long-on for a catch. A crucial time for him to depart and India now need one off one. Dhawan c Pollard b Fabian Allen 92(62) [4s-10 6s-2]
Fabian Allen to Dhawan, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Fabian Allen to Dhawan, no run, fired in flat on the stumps, Dhawan comes down the track and whips it away towards square leg
Fabian Allen to Manish Pandey, 1 run, tossed up from round the wicket and angling in, Manish Pandey goes leg-side of the ball and slices it away inside out towards deep backward point for a single. Scores level...
Fabian Allen to Dhawan, 1 run, short one served up on the body, Dhawan opens up his stance and pulls it away straight to deep mid-wicket for a single
Fabian Allen to Dhawan, 2 runs, short and angling away outside off, Dhawan carves it away from the crease towards the deep backward point fence for a brace. Hetmyer makes a good save at the boundary. This is Dhawan's highest score in T20Is
Fabian Allen [2.0-0-18-0] is back into the attack
This youngster has shown incredible composure and heart at the death with his yorkers. Keemo Paul, take a bow for taking this into the final over.
