We are done with the opening game of the bilateral series between SL and Zimbabwe. SL have managed to clinch a win! They were under a little bit of pressure but did well with the bat to chase down 297. That is it for today. We will get you more cricketing action from all over the world. Tadaa!
Dasun Shanaka | Winning captain: I think first of all we need to thank the crowd. Our batsmen showed the class and maturity during the chase. Credit to Nissanka, Asalanka and Chandimal. We got lot of players on the bench as well. We would want to consider them in the upcoming games.
Craig Ervine | Losing captain: We are pretty disappointed that we didn't come out with a win. We were probably 20 or 30 short. I don't think we could have done much differently. We gave away some easy runs and need to tighten up with our lengths.
Chandimal, Player of the Match: I could have finished the game but I couldn't. I always try to practice hard and keep my fitness levels up there despite having so many ups and downs in my career. Old is Chandi is back is what I feel, I started this way but lost my way after 3-4 years in international cricket, so nice to be back among the runs.
22:36 Local Time, 17:06 GMT, 22:36 IST: Sri Lanka have chased it down with elan. It wasn't supposed to pan out like this as far as the visitors were concerned. They managed a hefty score of 296 on a track which was suppose to assist the spinners. But the wicket under lights played pretty well and three Lankan batters got fifty. Nissanka laid the foundation and then Aslanka along with Chandimal carried it forward. The bowlers on both sides had a tough time but Ngarava accounted for three of the five wickets that fell for the hosts. Sri Lanka take a 1-0 lead and grab those vital points on offer. Hang on for the presentation ceremony.
