That is all we have from this encounter. Be back on Saturday for the second ODI between these two sides, same time and same place. Afghanistan, remember, will have to win that game to stay alive in the series. Until next time, good night and goodbye from the team!!

Roston Chase, Man of the Match: The pitch was helping the spinners and the captain asked us to restrict them under 200 and that's what we did. The fingers are working well today and glad I got the wickets. If I bat early, the plan was to bat deep and bat like in a Test match and take us home if the need be.

Kieron Pollard, West Indies skipper: Losing early wickets and batting almost 50 overs, I'm really pleased and Shai Hope we know he is a class batsman and he understands his role in the team very well, that's what cricket is all about. We have been having conversations about how we want to play the last two days and the guys have come in and showed great skill. It's a total team effort and really pleased with the enthusiasm and energy.

Rashid Khan, Afghanistan skipper: Not enough runs on the board. We were short of what we wanted to set and 240-250 would have been ideal on this wicket. I think they gave us the opportunities initially but we could not capitalize on the momentum. Every match is a learning curve and we will try our best to come back strong in the next game.

21:15 local: Defending a modest total, Afghanistan needed a couple of early wickets and the home team did manage to nip out two left-handers - Evin Lewis and Shimron Hetmyer - off the top three inside eight overs. Just when they needed to put the squeeze on, both Roston Chase and Shai Hope dug in and showed why they're rated so highly in slow and low conditions. The pair added 163 runs for the third wicket and never looked out of sorts against the spin barrage of the home team. Roston Chase, in particular, had a good all-round game and no reason why he shouldn't be the Man of the Match for this game. Stay tuned for that confirmation and player interviews...
