In isolation, it was a potential nail-biter that ended in dull fashion, but in the bigger scheme of things, West Indies had an unassailable lead in the series before the game began and if not for Starc's business-end brilliance, they were threatening to pull off another spectacular heist. That, however, was not to be, and the Aussies have finally managed to open their account this series. With that, it's Rishi, signing off from the Cricbuzz comm-box alongside, Akshay and Harish. Here's to one more humdinger to cap off the series. Ciao for now!

Aaron Finch | Australia captain: It was a good all-round performance. The bowlers showed really good character in the end, after conceding a lot in the powerplay. Mitch (Marsh) got off to a flyer and that meant I could minimize my risks. The rain break was a chance for us to accelerate later, and it put us in a great position with how Mitch batted. We knew Starc could do it (the final over), he's been doing this for over 10 years now. Behrendorff was fantastic, and Zampa was incredible, especially when we were going around the park a little bit, and he came in to take a couple of wickets and slowed things down.

Nicholas Pooran | West Indies captain: We didn't start properly, and the momentum shifted when Oshane bowled the no-balls, and I didn't go for the catch of Finchy. We didn't execute our skills properly. Oshane is a young guy and has a lot to learn and it's not easy with the batsmen targeting you in the powerplay. The last over was well executed by Starc and on another day we could have won this, but that's okay. Allen looked great with the bat and Walsh with the ball, so lots of positives.

Mitchell Marsh | Player of the Match: It's big having the responsibility of batting in the top three. It was a great partnership with Finch tonight. I thought the new ball came on well tonight, and it was fun to play with freedom. The bowlers bowled really well today against a good West Indies side. The wicket slowed a little at the backend for both teams but with the West Indies you never know. Starc's last over was fantastic.

23:12 Local Time, 03:12 GMT, 08:42 IST: The West Indies, they never cease to enthrall - even when they lose, even in the shortest format, they absolutely bossed the first four overs and looked like they were going to make short work of this target. It was the introduction of Zampa that quite literally slowed things down. Things were sluggish in the middle overs, with Marsh and Zampa doing a fine job of reining in the batters, but just as Pooran and Simmons threatened to cut loose, Mitch Marsh extended his purple patch into his bowling half and got rid of the two settled batsmen. With Russell and Allen, fireworks were always on the cards, and a shocking penultimate over from Meredith resulted in 25 runs and a wicket. It all ended, however, with Russell refusing to take a single in the final over, but succumbing to a slow death as he failed to find the boundary until it was futile - all courtesy a modern-day white-ball great in Mitchell Starc, who unleashed his best when it mattered. Presentations coming up in a bit...

19.6

Starc to Russell, SIX, but that's immaterial - just a half-volley muscled away to deep mid-wicket for a flat six, but Australia have managed to sneak home by 4 runs, courtesy Mitchell Starc's resounding win in the clash of the white-ball titans in the final over...

19.5

Starc to Russell, no run, gets a massive top-edge on this full-toss, lands between two fielders at cow corner, and they have run none! Now then, it's all over unless there's an extra now. It's been a heck of a ride, but it'll have to end with a puzzling final over contest between two of the best in white-ball cricket...

19.4

Starc to Russell, no run, 147kmph, and this is turning into a bit of a question mark now! Darted into the pads, Russell has a swat into the on-side, misses, and that's off the pads towards short third man...

19.3

Starc to Russell, no run, 148kmph, full-toss on the thigh, whipped away towards cow corner, and once again, the strike is not farmed...

19.2

Starc to Russell, no run, swats a fuller length ball away towards deep midwicket, and they're not going to take the single!

19.1

Starc to Russell, no run, very quick full-toss on the boots, Russell is hurried by this and flicks it towards midwicket before falling flat on his chest

Hayden Walsh, left handed bat, comes to the crease

11 off 6. This is West Indies' game to lose now.

Riley Meredith to Fabian Allen, out Caught by Wade!! One shot too many, as the wider full one finally works - Fabian Allen has a go at the hoick, and only gets a feather of an edge through to the keeper who holds on. Fabian Allen c Wade b Riley Meredith 29(14) [4s-2 6s-3]

Riley Meredith to Fabian Allen, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

18.5

6

Riley Meredith to Fabian Allen, SIX, it's a fourth six! Nothing's working! Another wide yorker attempted, but that's not full enough, Fabian Allen gets under it and murders this with a slice over sweeper cover for six! Meredith has no idea what to do...

18.4

6

Riley Meredith to Fabian Allen, SIX, a slower one on a length, a cutter, big no-no at this stage, and Fabian Allen has carted this from outside the off-stump over cow corner for six!

18.3

6

Riley Meredith to Fabian Allen, SIX, this is extraordinary hitting under pressure! A poor full-toss, right in the swing zone, and he's leathered this, sending it soaring over long-on for a gigantic six!

18.2

Riley Meredith to Russell, 1 run, a fast yorker attempted, slightly outside off, Russell has a big heave and gets a thick inside edge to square leg for one

18.1

Riley Meredith to Russell, SIX, ever seen a flatter six? I don't think so! He's erred with the yorker by inches, but the width did the trick - Dre Russ has room to swing the arms, and crashes that flat into the long-on board for six!
