That's a wrap to our coverage of this first Richards-Botham Test. The action shifts to Barbados next with the second Test commencing on Wednesday. We'll see you there. For now, it's goodbye...

Kraigg Brathwaite: Hard fought, all five days. It was a great effort from the bowling group and even the batters on the last day. First innings, we were good with the new ball. In the middle, when the ball isn't doing much, we could find ways to be a little tighter. (On Bonner) I think he's even better than me. Before the game, he told me 300 balls, that is the aim. The determination he had is an example for us. He's special, he has a special mindset, he's set example for us to follow. This pitch was good for batting. The bowlers may get a bit out of the pitch in Barbados, especially early on. It's finding ways to build pressure, as a spinner under 3 RPO is crucial. The ball didn't spin much, so the spinner has to be tight.

Joe Root: I am really proud of the team today, throughout the week actually. From that first hour, we found ourselves in a tricky spot. The character that we showed, the skill level, the calm nature especially at the backdrop of the previous tour, to not panic and get ourselves back in the game. Was a brilliant innings from Jonny. Throughout the game, we got better and better. On a very docile wicket, Leach was great. I can't fault any of the efforts. On that sort of wicket, extra pace and reverse is exactly what you want. It's disappointing but it's not Mark's fault. We have to assess how he is when we get to Barbados and see from there. For Jonny to read the game and play that kind of an innings in that situation showed great maturity. Zak had a lean yeat last year. He showed a huge amount of character to stand up, he's one of the senior batters now in the team. It was really important that he played an innings like that, more for himself. I am expecting another brilliant Test match. really looking forward to it. The support we've had throughout this game, it's been so good to see English fans travelling again and enjoying themselves.

Nkrumah Bonner | Player of the Match: I like to bat at this venue, it's a very good wicket. Obviously we wanted to win, but happy with the draw. I always wanted to play Test cricket. I am very versatile, I play the situation. If I am playing Test cricket, the goal is to bat a lot of balls. We showed real character the way we bowled. We have a lot of positives to take out of this game.

With just over two sessions left in the day, Root declared the innings and set West Indies a target of 286 in 71 overs. Draw was the most likely result and the probability increased with the WI openers getting involved in their second half-ton stand of the match. Then, things spiced up with both of them falling in successive overs. Within a span of ten overs, 59/0 became 67/4 with Jack Leach picking three of them ... and ... England started to believe. That's when Bonner and Jason Holder joined hands. Neither batters took any risks and batted sensibly. The latter got a reprieve against Leach in the 49th over when England failed to review an lbw call. The duo batted 200+ deliveries, survived a few close shaves, remained unbeaten till the end and salvaged a draw. Hang around for the presentations...

England's red-ball re-set didn't get off to an auspicious start as they were reduced to 48/4 in the very first session after opting to bat. Jonny Bairstow stitched crucial partnerships with the middle-lower-order, notched up a superb ton and ensured that his team posted a decent first innings total. West Indies, in reply, got off to a brisk start with captain Brathwaite recording his fastest Test fifty. However, they suffered a mini-collapse - 83/1 to 127/4. The visitors would have hoped to get a lead at that juncture, but Nkrumah Bonner had other ideas. The right-hander batted with grit, compiled his second Test ton, took his team into the lead and wore down the England bowlers on day three. With the docile pitch refusing to deteriorate, England dominated proceedings on the following day with Crawley and Root getting involved in a big partnership. The opener as well as the skipper raised their respective centuries and England upped the ante on the final day in an attempt to force a result.

17:34 Local Time, 21:34 GMT, 03:04 IST: There you go! The players shake hands. The first of the three-match Test series ends in a draw. West Indies 0 - 0 England! The England players appreciate the Barmy Army for their support throughout the match. West Indies, on the other hand, applaud the two unbeaten batters.
