Windies had everything going for them tonight. The pacers started well and their spinners struck at regular intervals to derail the innings when England were batting. Lewis and co. also ensured the chase was never an issue as it got delayed only by a couple of bouts of rain. Game 1 is done and dusted. England will certainly look to bounce back and we shall be there to detail out everything for you. There is plenty of action to look forward to. We will be back soon with more cricketing action.

Shai Hope: The pacers set the tone. The opening bowlers picking up wickets set the tone. We just need to be more consistent. Consistency and discipline were major factors today. Lewis has been around for a long time. He is very hungry. He has come in fresh here. Glad he is batting well.

Liam Livingstone: We need to get the rhythm of the 50 overs cricket. We know someone from the top 6 has to get a top score. 50 overs is a long time. We were trying to put the Windies team under pressure but couldn't. I don't think we adapted well. We lost wickets at key stages. Everyone saw what Turner is all about. Not a lot of people have seen him. Unfortunately, couldn't get a wicket.

Gudakesh Motie, Player of the Match: The conditions were different in SL. It was spinning more there. I wasn't getting much turn. I was trying to keep the balls in straight lines. Runs weren't coming from both the ends and it helped me. We had a training day yesterday and we were trying to figure out the pace.

21:51 Local Time, 01:51 GMT, 07:21 IST: Once the bowlers helped their team to bowl the opposition out for 206, it seemed a matter of time for the inevitable to happen. Lewis batted as if there was no tomorrow and clubbed 8 sixes in a knock of 94. England tried everything but Lewis kept everything at bay. King at the other end looked out of sorts but he spent enough time and managed to keep the opening partnership going. Windies raced to 81 before the heavens opened up and the long delay post that meant the chase was curtailed to 35 overs. After the resumption, Lewis continued his carnage and King finally ran out of luck. But Windies have taken a 1-0 lead without much fuss.
