The pitch was quite sticky at the start. Obed McCoy was on a roll. The skipper fell off the first ball. And India - the successors of the Morgan-strategy of non-stop attack - just lost all steam. The reason why plan B of batting out some time and trying to get to 150 didn't work was because there was no plan B. But tell you what, you'd take this approach over their overcautious one in the last World Cup. So this was me, Vineet Anantharaman, writing it out for you in the company of Raju Peethala, Saurabh Shankar, and our scorer, Mukesh Gowda. Until tomorrow, where the players hopefully have their own jerseys to wear, ta ta!!

Nicholas Pooran | Winning skipper: I can finally breathe now. It has been a tough summer for us. We lost a few close games and nearly made a mess of this as well. Obed was fantastic and all the guys just used the pitch and the conditions well. A win is a win. I believe in T20, better batsmen have to bat long. Myself, Hetmyer can take more responsibility. King should have won the game for us with the way he was batting. But hopefully he will learn from this. Thomas returned back for us after injury and came out trumps on his home ground. Obed is a bit of a freak and today he was just fantastic. He just kept picking up wickets for us. He said he would bowl full and straight on the stumps to Dinesh Karthik and it worked. Lovely to have him in the team and have that left-arm action for us.

Rohit Sharma | Losing skipper: Firstly, there weren't enough runs on the board. We didn't bat well. The pitch was playing nicely but we didn't apply ourselves. But this can happen. When you are doing something as a batting group, you might not always succeed. But we will learn from this. It is all about giving opportunities to these guys. [On the last over] We know what Bhuvi does for us; he has been doing it for years. Unless you give chances to guys like Avesh and Arshdeep you'll never know. But it is just one game. They have the skills and the talent and it is all about backing them. I am really proud of the bowlers and the team. Targets such as these can get over in 13-14 overs but we dragged it to the last over. I thought the guys executed the plans and really happy with the way the guys bowled. We have to look at some things in our batting. But I will say it again and again, this is the approach we want with the bat. We won't panic. We won't change anything after one loss.

Obed McCoy | MoM: This is for my mom. She is sick and she has motivated me to be a better player. The first ball wicket put pressure on the batsmen. I always look for wickets in the powerplay. I went in with a clean mind. In the previous game I was overthinking a bit. It gives me a challenge and I am just thankful for all the experiences and the challenges.

16:59 Local Time, 20:59 GMT, 02:29 IST: It may have taken three hours for the luggage to arrive and for the cricket to start, but when it did, it sure was fun. On one of those typically Caribbean pitches with the ball stopping around, the West Indies have beaten Indian in a T20I for the first time in three years. And these two teams play a lot. Devon Thomas, after scratching around for 11 off his first 13 balls, has turned things around, and how. WI, given the start King and Pooran gave them, had absolutely no business taking it this close. But thanks to some neat middle-overs bowling from Jadeja, Ashwin and Pandya, along with Arshdeep doing a superb job at the death, a twist came, and choke nearly did too. Rohit's decision of not turning to Bhuvneshwar was quite a head-scratcher. Okay, here he is, talking ..

Avesh Khan to D Thomas, FOUR, juicy width, a juicier back of a length, and duly chopped away behind point for the 1-1. West Indies, successfully, avoid choking!

19.1

6

Avesh Khan to D Thomas, SIX, the free hit: just the tonic, just the freedom, and just the result for the Windies. Thomas has killed this -- rocking back and bottom-handing this lofted slap over extra cover

19.1

Avesh Khan to Odean Smith, no ball, 1 run, 132kph, quick low full toss on off-stump, slapped to long-off. 9 runs | 5 balls . No, no, noooo. 8 runs | 6 balls. Guess how? Avesh and his naughty front foot ..

Avesh Khan [2.0-0-19-1] is back into the attack

It's right in the thriller zone. 10 runs | 6 balls | three results. WI, being WI, would/should back themselves to do it in two. Also, surprise, surprise, Bhuvi's still not bowling.

18.6

Arshdeep Singh to D Thomas, 2 runs, charges out, and carves it wide of sweeper cover

12 runs | 7 balls. A boundary could kill it.

Rajarshi: A left handed pacer is so vital in cricket. India should look to somehow include Ashdeep in the XI of the world cup squad. Has a good yorker, slower deliveries. Bumrah- Arshdeep- Harshal will be my picks.

18.5

Arshdeep Singh to Odean Smith, 1 run, 135kph, full toss, driven hard, wide of long-off, and Pandya does superbly to get across and keep it just a single

18.4

Arshdeep Singh to Odean Smith, no run, 126kph, wide, good length. Smith crouches, aims for the skies at cow corner with a monster swing across the line. Nope, no connection

18.3

Arshdeep Singh to Odean Smith, 2 runs, 131kph, a low full toss, pushed straight to Avesh at mid-off, who for no good reason, tries to break the one stump he has to aim at, and ends up leaking an overthrow

Odean Smith, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Arshdeep Singh to Powell, out Bowled!! Another yorker, another clean up. And this one seamed away too. Full, on middle, angling in from wide of the round the wicket crease, and then straightening off the deck past Powell's whip to knock out off-stump. Powell b Arshdeep Singh 5(8)

Arshdeep Singh to Powell, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

18.1

Arshdeep Singh to D Thomas, 1 run, a low full toss at pace, driven quietly to long-off
