Well, the principle for a long time has been that you come to Australia and you don't win. India violated that last year but normalcy has been restored after that. All the hype of the fiery young pace line-up of Pakistan was put to the sword by Davy Warner and company in this series. And Pakistan had a tour to forget. They will board their flights without tasting a victory in Australia and that's a horrible feeling to have. Australia on the other hand move to the second spot in the Test championship. And they became only the second team after India (Three series wins) to win a series in Test Championship. New Zealand will be the next team to 'face the heat' in this Australian summer and let's hope they will be more competitive than Pakistan were. Until the Trans-Tasman rivalry recommences, this is Varun Dixit signing off on behlaf of Sriram, Vineet Anantharaman, Shashikant Singh (Stats man), Naga and Siva. Goodbye and have a rocking week ahead.

Pakistan now lost each of their last 14 Tests in Australia.

Tim Paine: Really happy. Barring few slip-ups in the field yesterday, we played excellent cricket over the last two matches. We came back from England and we felt, we were getting better all the time. We wanted our batters to score big runs, when your six, seven and eight are not facing lot of balls then your top-order is doing fine. David and Marnus have been unbelievably good. Guys have been scoring runs when they have been getting opportunities. We all witnessed a special knock from David Warner. It is among the top one or two innings ever by an Australian. It was a special moment for Australia. There was no debate about enforcing the follow-on. We talked in the break that we wanted to declare. With weather around, we wanted to have enough time to win the game. Marnus has been fantastic from the back end of the Ashes when he came into the side. He showed his temperament and he also showed that he is very very skilful. Starc is alright. He had some issues with his toe but he is fine. It was an awesome effort from the bowlers. They kept coming all the time. We are lucky to have those three and the best spinner in the world. You need your spinner to finish games off in the second innings. We would like to hold onto more catches. We need to get better with our catching in the day/night Tests. New Zealand are playing very very good cricket and it's gonna be a competitive series with them.

Azhar Ali: I would like to congratulate Australia and especially David Warner. We have been beaten by a better team. We will take some positives from here. As a bowling unit, we need to control the scoring rate. You have to field really well here. And when you get in as a batter, you have to make big partnerships. Yasir Shah put up a brilliant fight in all the innings. Babar Azam has been a big positive for us in this series. And there is no doubt, he will be a big player for Pakistan in the future. I would like to thank Cricket Australia for brilliant hospitality. The crowd has been wonderful too.

David Warner | Player of the match and Player of the series: I am very happy we didn't have to bat again. The legs are okay, I was so tired last night that I slept in the couch. Overall, a good team performance. Winning two Tests by an innings, not often it happens. For us, a bit of memory and reflection of our mates' life (talking about Philip Hughes). It was his birthday as well. It's always a difficult time for us. I looked up at the skies to him and every time we come here and play, we do that. It was about focusing and I know I am capable of scoring runs. Coming out here and playing against Pakistan, we knew they were going to put up a fight. I backed myself and just enjoyed it. I had a bit of time out of the game to reflect on a lot of things. Now that I am back here, I am enjoying it and am hungrier than ever. We are going to come up against a quality opposition (on New Zealand). It's always a good contest. The conditions are probably going to suit their attack in Perth and we need to see what wickets are prepared and adjust accordingly. I'll go back to the nets and practice hard. I'll do my best.

Josh Hazlewood: It's been a good couple of weeks. The batters doing great work in the two matches. Good throw from Patty in the end to finish things off. It's a good Test for the bowlers; I thought Starcy was exceptional and Gazza (Lyon) in the second innings was outstanding. It's been a good last two months and to start the summer like this, I guess everything is going well at the moment for us.

Australia eventually declared at 589/6 and Pakistan found pink ball under lights hard to combat and their batting woes continued. Their top-order was blown away by Australian quicks but Babar Azam and Yasir Shah, yes, Yasir Shah coming at number-eight, took the onus upon himself to provide some respectability to Pakistan's first innings score. Australia enforced the follow-on on day 3 and by the end of the day, Pakistan were three down again in their second innings. Today, Shan Masood and Asad Shafiq displayed some fight but Lyon dismissed them, picked up a five-wicket-haul and the Pakistan challenge quickly fizzled out after that. Stay tuned for the presentations.

19:18 Local Time, 08:48 GMT, 14:18 IST: It's been a clinical performance by Australia and Pakistan were no match to them. Tim Paine won the toss and took the brave call of batting first on an overcast afternoon. Burns was dismissed early but Warner and Labuschagne made Pakistan suffer. Both carried their form from the 'Gabbatoir' and notched up their hundreds. Labuschagne parted ways with his partner after an excellent 162 but Warner, after all he has been through in the last one and a half years, was in no mood to let this opportunity go without making a serious impact. He got a double ton and then a triple ton and then became the second highest scorer ever for Australia in Test cricket.

Sukil: Test Match getting completed in 4th day, Warner would rue the fact that he could have got to 400 very easily

Hazlewood to Muhammad Musa, out Abbas Run Out!! What a funny way to end the series. Australia win by an innings and 48 runs! Muhammad Musa bunts it straight down the ground to mid-on and an alert Abbas thought there was an opportunity to take a single. He dashes down casually and by the time Muhammad Musa would have declined the run, he was already a long way down. Cummins had all the time in the world to aim and nail the stumps at the non striker's end. Abbas had gave it up just like Pakistan gave it up today. Abbas run out (Pat Cummins) 1(5)

Hazlewood to Muhammad Musa, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!

Hazlewood to Muhammad Musa, no run, good length delivery around off, Muhammad Musa swings and a misses

Hazlewood to Muhammad Musa, FOUR, streaky but Muhammad Musa would have enjoyed that. It was on a fuller length and Muhammad Musa heaves it in a wild fashion. It comes off the outside edge and flew over the slip cordon for a boundary

81.3

Hazlewood to Muhammad Musa, no run, fuller length delivery into the pads of Muhammad Musa, he misses the flick and it raps him on the thigh pad

81.2

Hazlewood to Muhammad Musa, no run, on a good length and just wide of off, Muhammad Musa pushes inside the line of the ball and it goes past the outside edge
