West Indies take the series 2-0 and more importantly have gained 20 points in the CWC Super League points table. Netherlands have had their moments in both games but their lack of experience has shown when they could not capitalize on those. They have one more chance to show what they have got in the third ODI which is on Saturday. Do join us for that. Until then, take care and goodbye..
Nicholas Pooran: Very happy. As I said before we came here to win games and we are doing the right things. Today was a good game, there was a bit of a collapse but the guys put their hand up and got the job done. We are having conversations around getting wickets with the new ball and if we don't then the spinners have to do the job. Every victory means a lot to us and we want to keep winning. We will try to live in the moment and enjoy this evening.
Pieter Seelaar: Didn’t score enough with the bat, we had a very good platform. Their spinners bowled better, they got more purchase than us. A score of 250-260 would have been good, but we couldn’t get there. Shariz getting a wicket in the first over for us was great, but to be totally honest we dropped off too quickly. It’s good to say nice things about these two games, but in the end we want to win. It is not good enough to be good in patches if you want to win games.
Brandon King | Player of the Match: Extremely happy so far. Try to do my best for the team, happy it came off today. Pitch is good for batting, can’t complain. Not trying anything expansive. Very satisfying to score tough runs, always good to stay till the end and get the team over the line.
18:18 Local Time, 16:18 GMT, 21:48 IST: Brandon King has ensured West Indies avoid an embarrassing defeat. At 99/5, Netherlands were bossing the game but were not able to break the sixth wicket partnership between King and Keacy Carty. The pacers, led by Bas de Leede, were disciplined and picked up the early wickets, the spinners too started well but a couple of missed chances in the field allowed the partnership to grow and once they were set, it was only a matter of time before they chased down the target. King was brilliant with the bat and he also played a key role in keeping a young Carty in check. Early on, Netherlands could not capitalize on the 101-run opening stand and were rolled over for 214 with Akeal Hosein recording career-best figures.
Aryan Dutt to Keacy Carty, SIX, West Indies win by 5 wickets. Carty finishes it in style. He knew Dutt was pushing them through, so waits on the backfoot and nails the pull all the way over deep mid-wicket
